Luke passed away this morning at 10:45am. He was just 9 years old. My heart is broken for him and his family. Thank you to everyone who contributed squares for the blanket and prayers for Luke and his family. Continue reading

Back in March 2009 I posted about this lovely young boy Luke. Luke has Leukemia and has been in remission twice. When I posted in March Luke was undergoing more treatment. I asked for squares and you answered. We were... Continue reading

Lentils and Ground Turkey over Spinach and Brown Rice Food I continue to eat as per the lifestyle; we even managed a short trip to NY (last day of Nick's exams and after he was finished we went to the Gan border into Watertown to pick up some 4x6" metal index card file boxes). The best part was being able to stick to my plan. I had my breakfast and mid morning meal. I ate my lunch on the way (chicken breast, sweet potato, peppers, cukes) and when we got to the states we went to a health food store... Continue reading

Brown Rice, Chicken and Veggie Salad Food So clearly the energy remains low and hinky (when I start posting everyday, and for a bit, that will be a good sign). The eating clean is good. I am still on Cooler 3. Have had a few moments of lightheadness and not feeling so good which for me means upping the grains a bit. The food is easy to prepare, delicious and leaves me feeling satisfied. Biggest challenges remain the 6 meals a day (I am still on a 4-5 meals a day but am going with where I am). I have... Crock Pot Porridge with Blackberries Overview Food wise I am LOVING this lifestyle. Really clarifies and has tightened up our eating (Nick is also doing a modified eating clean and enjoying it) - I know why I want to do this long term. I haven't had any sugar, in any form, for over a week (I was weaning myself off before I 'officially' started) and I don't miss it. It is amazing how 'sweet' a sweet potato is when your taste buds are more aware. There is a definite difference in the kind of full I feel; I think that... Continue reading

A very quick post. Great day food wise; horrible day health wise - lots of pain, spasms in my ribcage and diaphragm (sort of messed up by going for such a long walk, to me, yesterday) and in seeing my Doctor, am now on antibiotics for a bacterial infection. Feeling like crap. Continue reading

My intention was to start this new lifestyle/experiment on January 1, 2010 however I was in the midst of a wicked cold/virus and I knew I didn't have the physical and mental fortitude to get myself started. So, today is Day #1. Food My current goal is to implement the principles of Eating Clean in order to get used to the 6 meals a day and the change in food. The most lenient version of Eating Clean is what Reno characterizes as Cooler 3. As I progress I will move to Cooler 2 and then Cooler 1. My food plan... Continue reading

Way behind in my blogs as usual and I saw your post. I am thinking of you and your sister Vicki (I understand only too well how surreal and scary this shit is). Your passion for life is what helps you to live well and live with courage.

I am sorry to hear about your sister; my thoughts and prayers are definitely with you and her. Your thoughts aren't stupid - coping mechanisms are powerful things and they don't always make sense - and they serve a certain purpose, regardless of how crazy it may seem. Cashmere is a good substitute. As for the rest, I say vent away! Take care Vicki and enjoy that photo shoot.

Love the colour. Reading ahead on a pattern..oh yeah; I think I have when all I really did was SKIM (not quite the same). I like the provisional cast on and I occasionally luck out that it goes in the right direction. They will be lovely though. The strawberries and salad greens look yummy!
