I think the long form is necessary. Sometimes my own blog entries are lengthy, but I tend to keep posts under 400 words...I'm a poet, not a prose writer; my prose writing seldom gets long. However, I love long work, though I must admit I prefer reading longer essays on the page rather than on the screen. It is interesting to me, as rather a late-comer to blogging (2013 I think), how infrequently my readers use the links I offer and how infrequently they comment. When I read blogs, I almost always follow the links if offered--though I admit that I don't comment too often. You should definitely keep going! :)
A familiar view or two! Lovely photos. I've visited Penn's grave in England. It seemed strange, somehow, to "find" him there in Chalfont St. Giles. One thinks of him as "an American."

A very creative sight, your desk. "What kind of person do I want to be if and when I have to deal with great grief, or the personal challenge of chronic or terminal illness? What makes someone the sort of person others want to be around, and what isolates others?" --good things to ask oneself, and I am thinking along the same lines these days. Have a good next day, and the day after, and the new day after that.
