Oh, this is one of my top Christies, Les! She does such a good job with the various characters here, I think. And the plot is quite clever.

I couldn't agree more, Les. This one is definitely one of Christie's best, in my opinion. Glad to see it spotlighted here.

Oh, I like Violet Strange very much too, Les. And I think Green presents some very interesting puzzles in this collection. I also very much like the look readers get at the social structure of the day. Nice choice for your revies!

Carr was such an all-around talented author, Les. I'm not surprised he also did a fine job with historical mystery. No-one was better than he at the kind of 'impossible' mystery that really challenges one's thinking.

Oh, I like that idea of the circus as the context, Les. And now you've got me thinking of other crime novels that feature clowns, acrobats and circus performers. Must ponder that one - thanks for the 'food for thought.'

In my opinion, Les, you can't go wrong when Martin Edwards is at the editing helm...

Les - So glad to hear that Dean Street Press is re-issuing some of these novels. I love it when they can find new audiences.
