Oh my! what a lovely surprise to see you back again Jane. I clicked on my link to your blog as I do from time to time, and to my delight I find you've been writing for a while (so an extra treat - catching up with what I've missed....). Such treasures, those Odorico mosaics. I always find something new and exciting when I visit you. Visiting Edinburgh we had a look around St Giles Cathedral. Nothing particularly grabbed me until I spotted the large window and (thanks to you...) I thought I recognised the style. Sure enough, it's by Douglas Strachan. I shall be following you again and looking forward to more gems. Welcome back. Deborah

Good grief, these are extraordinary! They're certainly challenging my expectations of what to expect of church art (especially given some of the debates over the years within the C of E). Fascinating.

So glad you decided to go ahead and press the publish button! I've had a quick visit and it's fascinating. I'll write about it and put a link from my blog.

Jane - I want to add my heartfelt thanks for your 10 years (10 years!!!) blogging. Without exaggeration I can say that finding your book the Gentle Art of Domesticity changed all sorts of things for me. It brought me to your lovely blog, and through that to so many others. In turn that took me to reading about other womes lives in the US, Australia, Canada, and of course here in the UK. I came on your quilting course and regained my confidence in crafting, rediscovered old skills and learnt new ones. And now I have dipped my toe in and am writing my own blog. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! If I knew you in the real world I would pop by with some flowers and and a cake. But they will have to be virtual ones. DeborahS

As ever Jane, gorgeous colours and photos. I love the way you manage 'join the dots' between such different things. I'm really enjoying your not-so-new blog - a lovely, eclectic read. Thanks so much!
