Thank you, Sue! (There are a lot of us around, aren't there? :-) ) I think the way I write and research changes from book to book. I just go with what my instincts say. If those instincts say, 'You should got to Italy and write on a terrace looking at mountains,' then I definitely listen.

Thank you, Mary. I'd love a few days in Venice on my own. I'm a bit weird like that ... Which part of Germany were you posted to? I was born near Mönchengladbach as my parents were in the army and, later, my brother lived in Munich.

I can recommend Umbria. The flat parts are full of sunflower fields and the mountainous parts full of vineyards and olive groves. I've been to Naples and Pompeii, too. I don't think I saw Naples at its best as it rained all day.:-)

That sounds lovely, Cathy. Living in Italy sounds gorgeous. Where I used to stay in Italy was only 7 miles from the Tuscan border. Beautiful part of the world.

Top of my list of April reads was Christina's own 'Whispers of the Runes', of which I was lucky enough to receive an ARC. I've loved her books since the beginning and think that 'Whispers' is her best yet. Readers should definitely preorder! Another ARC I received and enjoyed was Helen J Rolfe's 'Summer Serendipity at the Twist and Turn Bakery'. One book that sticks out as a favourite in April was 'Midnight Kiss' by Lisa Marie Rice. I also listened to 'The Bookstore on the Beach' by Brenda Novak and I'm still listening to 'Hungry as the Sea' by Wilbur Smith.
