Food for thought- You could try Lucid Dreaming. Play the avatar music while you sleep, specific songs that put you at ease, and picture who you are, and where while you're laying in bed. If you get it right, you'll slip right into Pandora as if you were a part of everything.

whenever i listen to the soundtrack, i get lost in the world of Pandora and its AMAZING qualities. The night scenes in the movie were just breath-taking and made me wanting more and more of it. did anyone else feel kinda depressed after watching avatar? like something in your life was missing or ...

Has anyone out there thought (like me?) that Avatar would make an excellent MMO? /discuss
Perhaps if the MMO wasn't quest and "experience" based in the traditional sense. I had a few thoughts on how things might work for the Na'vi in terms of the ever difficult form of currency in various MMO games. Rather than having a traditional "gold" or "Credit" system, the Na'vi could perhaps be able to acquire new things by performing various "feats of strength" more or less. A way to prove your worth. For the Na'vi, questing in a basic sense would be necessary, but at the same time, it'd be a chance to more fully explore the way of life, and Pandora itself.

As I've mentioned before. Avatar isn't a movie. It's an experience. You can't go see Avatar and cliche everything out of the movie and write it off as another cheap knock-off of some other movie with no originality, which is a lot of what Hollywood's doing. It's pretty much bad sequels and movies based off books, apocalypse, etc etc. Avatar's a massive switch because it contains originality unseen in at least a decade, if not more.

Well, I was surprised. I was not sure what to expect when I went to go see it for the first time. I was expecting a c- or maybe a c+ movie. It didn't even look that good in the commercials that I saw. I rarely "get into" movies, and I have never posted comments about a movie on a blog before this...

On the note of "Curing insanity" I figured the Tsahik was talking about his desire to learn about the Na'vi. But of course, Jake had balls and didn't give up. It's one of the things that made his random Marine-ish comments whenever he was doing something that risked death intensely amusing.

I notice that many people are saying that they are depressed that they can't live on Pandora. To help out I thought I'd remind everyone how dangerous it is. Probably five minutes after admiring the beauty of the place there is a good chance you would be: 1) Ripped to pieces by a pack of viperwolv...
You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. I can almost visualize the design too... I think I smell a new project coming up.

I'll give the Avatar game a 7, even if you can't choose the difficulty level. I found it a pretty good resource for reference material from the movie.

Ehh... Just my opinion, Avatar is better than all 6 of the Star Wars movies just by itself. Lucas has -nothing- on Avatar's depth and emotion, whereas Lucas was pretty much all about government, money, and blowing s*** up. Continue reading

@Avax
Cameron inserted an extra hour into Aliens for his Directors cut, who's to say Fox won't let him do the same for Avatar?

Here are the deleted scenes I know of: - The scene were Jake has longer hair, and is in a some type of casino, bookies (part of the trailer, and represents probably a retrospective on his life when he became a paraplegic) - Scenes of Grace teaching Na'vi English language and her bondage with Na'v...
Definitely epic win. That'd make a really sweet DVD cover

This is why Directors Cuts are awesome. 4 and a half hours of Avatar? I'd buy a blu-ray player for that... And then some.

I'll stick to being a thinker. Getting out and doing something never really got me anywhere so I'll just leave my deep thoughts to do the work.
Oh yeah, one more thing. This planet -was- beautiful. Once. We're too destructive to bring it back in 2 generations, if ever.

I still think it's funny that the only Avatar that's definitively belongs to anyone is Grace. Her Na'vi look reminds me of when she did Alien Resurrection. It's actually kinda funny how "Ripley" still kinda follows her.

I just wanna see what didn't make it in the film. Cameron had -better- do a "Directors Cut," minus the '20 miles of bad road," as he put it for Aliens. Continue reading
