Also if the Liberals put anything related to legalisation forward if they took power I'd probably vote for them. Pity a slip of the finger leads to such a farcical statement.

What utter drivel. There are valid points to be made about some of the less than ideal backgrounds of the greens and attacking the greens on policy issues themselves. There's a very valid debate to be made about the Greens economic policies (as a libertarian their social policies are fairly inoffensive and quite mild to me, so that's neither here nor there) and some of the rusted on marxists that seem to have jumped into the party but to call into account Brown's integrity I think is a bit much, mate. The only real anti-capitalist in the bunch would be Rhiannon, the rest are kind of murky third-wayers like most other people in politics, they just trend towards the nordic model. You seem like a smart kid, I'm sure you can do better.

Did you take that entirely fatuous reading of modern quantum physics and multidimensional theory from the back of a supplement packet?

What nonsense to be proud of a fundamental lack of knowledge in a particular field. No mathematician or scientist worth their salt would gleefully proclaim they were proud of their illiteracy, yet this obviously deficient creature seems as if they are somewhat unbound by the reality that ensconces them. Ignorance of a situation is no excuse, if you feel that reality is dictated entirely by social mores, then I suggest you read into some of Sokal's work and realise that gravity is a socially defined construct. Step outside of the rubric by moving to the roof of the nearest building and destroy the patriarchal rigid social structure by demonstrating how gravity is entirely socially defined, please.

You have a particularly warped view of the sciences and in particular Mathematics, don't you? The beauty, poetry and rigor of mathematics outstrips anything in existence in the realm of language by a substantial order.

Is Pip ranting about the Bilderbergers again?!
I'm P sure Vikas supports Wikileaks. Pilger making claims about the information WL has to have a go at Greg Sheridan was ridiculous. Pilger is not a spokesperson for Wikileaks, not now, not at any time in the past. Separate the two concepts, please.

Toggle Commented Feb 16, 2011 on The Necessity of Gun Control at Menzies House
Gun loathing comes from fear and uncertainty regarding firearms. This piece isn't particularly compelling in that it implies a safety and comfort regarding firearms to the unknown regarding ownership. It's obvious in Australia that criminals have firearms. I mean it's not even a utilitarian argument about the availability of firearms. The point is this, a firearm is just like a car, it requires training to operate effectively and safely. We do not make policy regarding cars based on statistical outliers, nor should we make policy regarding firearms. Are we not adults? If so, are we not both entitled to the rights we have and the responsibilities for our actions? Surely if the government is saying "Oh no guns are much too dangerous for your laypeople to use and possess without a great deal of rigamarole" isn't that an abrogation of our rights as individual citizens to do what we wish with our own property? A federal gun ban is a joke. If certain states wish to be tough on guns, so be it, if others don't wish to be, so be it as well. We're adults, if we have the inherent capability to drive a car which is a dangerous tool, we should be able to own a gun for whatever reason we desire.

A lot of my friends say that Atlas Shrugged is starting to come true. Will wait and see.
It's obvious that the solution to big supermarkets competing is to do away with property rights altogether.

This article does not call for the government to be shut down and the funds to be redistributed to the taxpayer. It is obviously written by a crypto-communist working as part of the Socialist Alternative's 5th column within the actual circuitry of the internet.

Glad you're so aware of my income bro, not that I work full time and also go to Uni but w/e bro it's cool Just attack me and not my arguments, it's the lefty way
"Have you no compassion for the thousands affected throughout queensland and victoria? These people have lost their homes and there livelihoods providing you and half the country with fresh food and you have the gall and selfishness to question a minute levy that you won't even be paying?" So I won't be paying it? Sweet I can count on you to tell the tax dept that then. Way to miss the entire point of the article and then entirely prove my point. "This is so typical of some internet libertarian hack who thinks any taxation is theft. Yeah its easy to object to tax when you suckle on the teat of your parents money. These people are true blue Aussies and they need our help. It would be unaustralian not to help them." Sweet dude Ad Hominems are a valid substitute for actual argument. Maybe you should make your other argument about how Howard had levies and thus I can't be against levies because Howard had levies.
I'm glad someone's commenting on this. I generally buy from bookdepository and other sites as I can get books for far cheaper. These restrictions are kneecapping Aussie retailers and making it so hard for booksellers to stay in the black. Solid article!
I'm so glad you've managed to willfully miss the point I was making in order to state a truism. How wonderful.
I endorse the full contents of this article. This tax will destroy Australia. Render it into an unrecognisable socialist wasteland where we will trade bread tokens for drugs to kill ourselves with.
