I saw the trailer for Antiviral and thought it sounded too bizarre to take seriously on any level. Not sure if it would have been made without financiers thinking it'll pay-off in the long-term if Brandon goes on to have a career like his dad's.

I think I'll get this on Blu-ray. I remember seeing it on TV when I was very young and now, to be honest, I barely remember any of what's described above. The two moments that stand out to me are when the device is put on a monkey and the final life-after-death experience. The latter being ones of those "big ideas" that triggered a love of sci-fi. Anyone else think James Cameron stole elements of Brainstorm for Strange Days?
The Bourne franchise is an odd one for me. I've seen and enjoyed the previous three films, but have very little memory of them or any residual feelings. I think I remain confused that they've managed to produce FOUR films from an idea that barely justified two. Shame this one isn't a worthy sequel, however, as I buy into the idea of Jeremy Renner as an action star more than Matt Damon.
I think Mars was nixed this time around because Hollywood's now very superstitious about the number of movies that flop with Mars in the title. Mission to Mars, John Carter, Mars Needs Moms, Red Planet, et al. Ironically, if Total Recall 2012's really this unremarkable (haven't seen it), it would probably have helped having the hero go to a future-Mars environment. Well, visually. Beckinsale's a curious case. She's the British Mila Jovovich in my mind, but more of a loss to Hollywood... because, pre-Underworld, she was actually a decent actress who deserved better. Now she's a surprisingly good action movie star who doesn't actually get to appear in good action movies.

Is it so wrong that geeky filmmakers have inherited the multiplexes? I'm sure it'll be another personality type's turn in 15-20 years.
