In keeping with the theme of the latest issue of HOW magazine we wanted to post a little "self-promotion" blog about our award-winning "self-promotion" foil notebooks. Our design team created these foil notebooks to showcase our new foil stamping technique. The set of three notebooks -- in gold, silver and copper -- were designed as a set and belly-banded before being gifted to our favorite customers. As we often say around here, "go team"! We had an amazing time last week at the trunk show held at Union Street Papery and wanted to share a bit for those that couldn't be there! Over the past five years we've been honored to create custom illustrations and hand-made letterpress labels for McEvoy Ranch. The custom illustrations included on each collector’s edition letterpress label for their Limited Edition Extra Virgin Olive Oil were inspired by different elements seen on their amazing ranch right here in Petaluma, California. These architectural and landscape elements were incorporated into the design, letterpress printed on 100% cotton papers and hand-applied to their beautiful glass bottles. The Sonoma suite is special to all of us at Dauphine. It was originally created by our then managing director, Erin, for her Fall wedding. The design was inspired by 19th century French engraving cuts to create a romantic and formal, but not so traditional look. To continue the romantic and formal feel, for its debut in our new Custom Wedding Portfolio II album, the Sonoma suite was letterpress printed in malt and espresso inks on our double-thick natural white premium stock and then edged in espresso. Even though the calendar shows that summer is approaching, the weather here in Northern California doesn’t feel anywhere close! To help remind us that it is already June and that blue skies are soon to return and stick around for a while, we chose our Pacifica design for the latest in our Sneak Peek series. The vintage inspired, breezy and warm inspiration board turned in to a letterpress wedding suite that would be ideal for a Cuban or Hawaiian event, but could also be customized for any vintage yet contemporary venue with an island feel. The latest suite in our Sneak Peek Series has a fun and unique history. Our Yountville suite was inspired by a board created by one of our favorite bloggers -- Kathryn at Snippet & Ink. Initially we fell in love with the colors and preppy style of the board. We found ourselves coming back to it over and over after having it pinned up on the wall in our design studio. We were thrilled to see a letterpress wedding invitation suite we printed on the new Style Me Pretty Texas blog. This bride, also an interior designer, worked with our Houston retailer Katie & Co. to customize the Peony design from our Wedding Portfolio. We can't get enough of all of the design elements the bride created herself. As Abby Blaire writes for SMP "She not only designed the bridesmaid dresses, boutonnieres and so much more but she also designed her own gown." We are wholeheartedly impressed.
