It's Time to Regroup and Move On
I started this blog in 2003, with the encouragement of Fred First, whose Fragments from Floyd blog finally inspired me to move to this part of Virginia. After years of commenting endlessly on other blogs, I decided it was time to start some ripples of my own. I had already considered that blogging might be the equivalent of writing in the sandy margin of the sea, but I feltl the... Continue reading

We live in interesting times...
Barack Obama has won the Presidential election with a 1.7% margin of the popular vote. That makes for an evenly divided country with the cities being Democratic and the rural areas being Republican. We may see gridlock on a continuing basis with a Republican House and a Democratic Senate and Executive Branch, but Obama now has the chance to stack the Supreme Court with Liberal judges, so his plans for... Germany's Wind Power Chaos Should Be A Warning To Everyone
Those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it. Germany has gone further down the "renewables" path than any other country and now it's paying the price. Back-up fossil-fuel plants must run constantly and inefficiently to pick up the slightest slack in wind power. Christopher Booker, The Telegraph | Sep. 23, 2012, 6:19 AM | 6,319 | 37 WAstateDNR - Department of Natural Resources via flickr On Friday,... Continue reading

Unfortunately for us all. he wasn't that good at on-the-job-training. We knew he had held no executive positions before becoming President, but even those of us who opposed his election hoped that he would be a quick study.
He is cunning, but not wise; facile, but not well-schooled; and he shows little sense of the maturity that we hope for in a leader.
All of his skills seem to be directed at preserving his self image. Other than showing us how modern royalty would like to live, he and Michelle have contributed little to our cultural heritage or national pride.

Reposted from: The Hip-Hop President: All Swag, No Cattle by Michelle Malkin September 14, 2012 09:14 AM The third and fourth victims of the blood-boiling Benghazi jihadi attack have been identified. Americans Tyrone (Ty) Woods and Glen Doherty were former Navy SEALS who worked as private security contractors. It’s also now been confirmed that the attack was an elaborate, two-part planned operation — timed to 9/11 with the stupid movie... Continue reading

Former Cocaine User Obama Attacks Romney Over Event Hosted by Ex-Dealer
Reposted from Breitbart News. Email Article Print Article Send a Tip by Joel B. Pollak 13 Aug 2012 No, wait--seriously? Did the Obama campaign just tweet an Associated Press article about how a guy who owns a juice store that Mitt Romney visited in Miami was once convicted of dealing cocaine, 13 years ago? Does Barack Obama, who admitted he once had a cocaine habit (has any journalist asked if... Continue reading

Global Warming is Man-Made
The global warming scare has been a gold mine for politically-inclined academics and it has spawned a new industry: Taxpayer funded bankruptcies like Solyndra and Abound Solar. Unfortunately, the facts fail to support the scary claims: http://tinyurl.com/c4dke2g Continue reading

Over Medicated?
I have been carefully following the advice of doctors and specialists ever since my heart attack of several years ago, but each year seemed to bring additional medications which I needed to take to handle various physical conditions which appeared to be age-related. As the number of specialists and medications increased, I began noticing a trend. Whatever I was trying to handle got reduced to an acceptable level, but my... Continue reading

The EPA is out of control - be prepared for anything
Keep your eye on the actions of the EPA. This organization is seriously out of control. Obama’s America: EPA Officials Visit Man For Sending Email On May 24, 2012, in big government, by TWB About a month ago, EPA regional official Al Armendariz made news when a YouTube video of him describing the way the agency handles oil and gas companies surfaced. In it, Armendariz said an analogy he liked... Continue reading
