Love returned to my life when I least expected it.... A year ago, I sat at home. I was alone and sad. My eyes were red and swollen from crying. I could not understand where I had gone wrong in my life to bring me to this point of heartbreak. My phone rang at 2 A.M.! No one ever called me that late. I did not recognize the number on my phone, but answered anyway. I knew who it was as soon as I heard his voice. It was Ken --- a man that I had dated, loved and lost four years earlier. Ken was serving his third tour in Iraq. He told me that I had been on his mind, and he had a feeling all day that he needed to talk to me. We talked for several hours. Neither one of us wanted to hang up the phone. Ken promised he would call again and soon. And he did! For three months, Ken called as often as he could. We wrote hundreds of emails to each other. One day I received another 2 A.M. phone call. I knew it was Ken. The first words I heard over the phone were, "I love you and I have always loved you. Please give me another chance!" I started crying, but this time tears of joy. Ken made it back to the US safe and sound. I still spend hours talking to him. But now, instead of talking for hours over the phone, we talk for hours in each others arms. In a few months, I will be his wife! It is still hard for me to believe that I will have a lifetime with this amazing man that loves me and makes me smile everyday. I fall in love with him more and more everyday. Life is so much sweeter with him by my side. Love DID returned to my life when I least expected it!
