A few FREE resources for you
Happy Tuesday! I've had the privilege of contributing to a beautiful faith-based magazine over the last few weeks. It's called For Her, and it has a wide variety of articles each week about subjects we women care about: friendship, culture, spirituality, marriage, fashion, parenting, and more. The first article I... Continue reading

How to Replace the Lies You Believe
I chatted recently with radio host and author Carol Graham on the subject of my battle with depression and how God's word helped me overcome the lies I'd believed for way too long. I hope you'll listen to the broadcast. Also, please pray for others who will hear it, that... Continue reading

My Depression Story: Part Three (plus resources and a book giveaway!)
Today is part three of my series on mental health (at least MY mental health). Thank you to those who've viewed and shared these videos. For those of you who've been following along, I want to point out that the worst of my depression happened over sixteen years ago. It's only been the last few ...
Thank you, friend!
My Depression Story: Part One
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, so I thought I'd make a few videos about my own experiences with depression. (They're not edited to perfection, but giving up on perfection was part of my healing process.) Today I'm sharing the first part of my personal journey. People see me smiling and ...

It does seem like a lifetime ago, doesn't it, Marcus? And yet it doesn't seem that long ago. Weird how time compresses like that.
Thanks for your encouragement. That means so much! The High Calling was a part of all that--helping me stretch and grow, to not be afraid of tough topics and serious editing. Carey and I hope to see you soon, too.
Blessings, friend--to you, the Foundation, and your sweet family.
A Sad Goodbye--and New Beginnings
“Hi, I’m Dena,” I said to a dark-haired man, about my age, sitting down the row from me. We were both waiting for the “newbies” meeting at Mount Hermon Writer’s Conference to begin. “I’m Marcus,” he replied, and as we chatted about poetry (his passion) and non-fiction (mine), we discovered that...
AMEN and thank you, Tim. I was so glad to meet you, as well. And yes--we will stay friends forever. :)

Jeanne--yes. I feel God pressing me to press on, not look back anymore. Since we found out the news in late spring, it's been hard to not grieve and feel bad. But I know God works all things for His will and purposes, so I need to not get stuck--to actively celebrate what He has done and look forward to what He will do. Thanks for all your contributions; I loved working with you and helping share your words with a wider audience.
