Oh wow, I wish I could crochet. I've tried and I'm all thumbs - these projects are gorgeous!!
Crochet
Using up little odds and ends of yarn left over from other projects Both project made from free patterns. Links on my blog.
That is definitely a non-ugly sweater - you've done a fab job!! xo
The Holiday Sweater
The goal was to try to create a non-ugly holiday sweater. Here's what I came up with: More info and pictures on my blog.
A video thank you to Nicky

Anyone can make a Messenger Bag
I couldn't throw out or give away a pair of pin-striped flared jeans when they got too big. So I made them into a messenger bag lined with scrap fabrics. Here's one I made for my daughter out of more... Continue reading

My first trip to jail ... it was worth it
I've been coveting these Black Milk Bones leggings forever and when they offered their "seconds" for half-price at their store, I just had to do it. But first, time to use my Get Out of Jail Free card. It was... Continue reading

Thank you, I was sweating when I made the first cut as I didn't want to ruin it!
One vintage dress ... saved!
I fell in love with this 1950s duchess satin dress when I thrifted it for $3 a couple of years ago. It was showing signs of severe neglect and eventually the right shoulder seam blew. So I've cut the dress to create a one-shoulder number. I think it's worked and now I can wear it without worryin...
Thanks so much!

Thank you, it's my favourite so I'm really glad I saved it:).

Insanely gorgeous! Taking orders?;)
polka-dot bathers
So, I've upgraded my pledge to "life" after a bit of humming and hrr-ing. Phew! But I've always sewn for myself, and I've managed not to shop in the last year and don't miss it at all. In fact now I'm too fussy about new clothes in the shop, that they have some thing or another that I want to...
Utterly gorgeous - what a labour of love!
A Quilt for Mum
Hi! I wasn't going to post this as I wasn't thinking about this as a refashion, but then it occurred to me that it was because all of the fabric I have used came from something else. I made this for my mother after my father's death, and it contains pieces of his shirt. On the back is a thr...

This is a real beauty - did you do your own tea-staining? xo
The Reinvention Skirt
Based on The Reinvention Skirt by Maya Made. I used a thrift store skirt that was too big. I took in the side seam and added the embellishments - hand stitched on a tea stained doily and made the bottom ruffle from a thrift store t-shirt. More info on my blog. My little friend Cousteau want...
This is utterly beautiful:)
Update on Refashioned Girl Top
Here's an update on my t-shirt refashion posted earlier. I have a pic of my niece in her dress/top. I can't wait to make more... eventually.
Utterly fabulous refashion - fits perfectly, I love the new length and hem trim.
I finally did something!
It's taken me a long time to get around to doing anything for wardrobe refashioning; I have been religiously op-shopping and haven't broken on the no new clothes part of the pledge, getting behind the machine has been a different story. I started small, and just shortened a dress... a circle ski...
You've given me an idea for my pair of OTK's that don't reach OTK! Great job! xo
little booties
Hi! It's Vic! So, I was looking for flat booties. My mom knew this. So, when she went to a friend's, and I don't know exactly how this came about, she bought a rarely-used pair of knee-high slouch boots for $5. Now, I don't have anything against slouch boots, but these made my legs look huge...
Absolutely adorbs! xo
I love sheets! Mommy and Me Circle Skirts
More love for the circle skirt tute over at MADE. I made matching skirts for me and my daughter. Details on my blog.
I'm not sure what a barn jacket is but I love what you've done here! I love the collar on the "new" dress. xo
interconnected wardrobe refashioning
Previously seen skirt made from old pants and older curtain - dinner napkin set Seemingly unrelated apron made from the bottom front of a denim barn jacket..... what can they possibly have in common? A shared problem of what to do with the top of the barn coat and the rest of the napkins....
Warm Me Up!
So you pull out your winter gear, go through the bag of tights and wonder "Why the heck did I keep those?" Never fear, funk up your short sleeve t-shirts and keep your arms warm by using the tights as... Continue reading

Oh wow, my kids would love this - as do I!
Eyeball Bags
Hi Everyone! I made these bags at the start of this week, one for myself and one for my sister! I used a tutorial I found at craftster, which I've used before for a bag similar, and I just love it! I used this AWESOME eyeball fabric that was gifted to me from my Captain + Craft Wife - Thera...
Very clever!
Simple cowboy boot refashion
A very simple shoe refashion, but a refashion none-the-less I picked up a pair of black cowboy boots from a clothing exchange, which I love, but not the light brown embroidered stitching: Some black boot polish from my husbands stash quickly fixed up that problem, so now I have a pair of comp...
I love them both but the patchwork one is ingenious! Welcome back to skirt-world:)
So far so good
So we're nearly 1 month into our pledges and I feel like I've done really well. I've bought fabric but fabric for me is cheaper than clothing! lol I was raised Conservative Southern Baptist. For those of you overseas or not religious you may not know what this means. But to make it easy I wore ...
Giving Vintage the Chop
I bought this old kilt several years ago and despite falling in love with the tartan, I never wore it. Way too mums-ey at calf-length. So after moths got to it recently, I deliberated for a couple of weeks then... Continue reading
