Since Dish is not removing the ads from the PrimeTime Anytime shows, I am not sure how the networks can get so upset over this. They are saying Dish is changing the broadcast and the way it is aired, which in reality they are not. The commercials are still there to view and it is the customers choice it they want to enable the feature. When my boss at Dish showed me this feature, I was super excited to try it out. I now use it every morning to watch all the previous shows that were on the night before. I can get ready for working and watch all my shows without having to worry about fast-forwarding it myself. I still had 20 minutes to spare when I was finish. I love this feature and I think Dish did a great job bringing Auto Hop to their customers.

Having a DVD player in the car can be very useful when you are traveling with the kids. I actually use my iPad when we are traveling. They can play games, read, watch movies, or watch TV. A co-worker at Dish told me with the Dish Remote Access app and the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver the kids can watch all our subscription channels live anywhere we can get a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. The kids love being able to watch all their favorite shows and they can stream movies on there as well through the Blockbuster@Home service. The iPad is a lifesaver on the road.
That is awesome that Amazon signed a deal with Paramount. That will give them a lot more content and I am sure their customers won’t complain about that. I love my streaming service through the Blockbuster@Home service. A co-worker at Dish told me to try it out and I love it. The main reason I love this service is because I can use it on the iPad, which Amazon Prime you can’t unfortunately. The price is awesome and having it on the iPad is a lifesaver when we are traveling with the kids.
When the Hopper receiver came out, I thought PrimeTime Anytime was the best thing! I now love that Dish added Auto Hop to compliment PrimeTime Anytime. I like to watch some of my PrimeTime Anytime shows the next day before I have to go to work at Dish. With Auto hop, I can still do that but now I have an extra 20 minutes to spare before heading to work.
I think this DVR is the best out there. As a customer, I love that Dish is giving us the option to use this feature, which is why I don’t understand why the networks are so upset. ! I like to watch some of my recorded prime time shows the next day before I go to work at Dish, so now with Auto Hop, I can still do that just now I have an extra 20 minutes to spare before I have to head out to work. I can see the Networks point of view, because sometimes I like to check out the commercials. That is why the Auto Hop is a cool; I don’t have to enable Auto Hop if I want to watch commercials. I can even rewind back to them if I choose to. This is definitely a battle I am in favor of Dish on.

I like to watch some of my PrimeTime Anytime shows the next day before I have to go to work at Dish. DVR’s have been around for ages, so people have already been skipping over commercials for years.
Reading this article it seems to have some inaccurate information in it. Saying that the Auto Hop is actually deleting the commercials is not correct information. I work for Dish and I can tell you that the Auto Hop is actually jumping over the commercials and the customer has the choice to enable the feature or watch the commercials. I personally have the Hopper and I love this feature. It is available on the PrimeTime Anytime shows and it is the day after. When I go to watch a show, it will prompt me to choose if I want to Auto Hop or not. If I do enable the feature, I can still rewind back to view commercials. This feature is simply an easier way to fast-forward through the commercials.
I think it is a great feature to add onto the Hopper. I thought the Hopper was an awesome receiver as it was, but this feature makes it even better. I know when I was told about it from a co-worker at Dish, I was super excited to try it out. I went home that night and caught up on some of my PrimeTime Anytime shows with this new feature. All I have to do is enable to feature before the show begins and I don’t have to worry about fast-forwarding through the commercials. It doesn’t completely eliminate the commercials, and you can go back and watch them if you want, which is pretty cool. I think Dish did a good thing for their customers adding this feature.
I am one of those people that enjoy watching my shows through the DVR after it airs because of the commercials. I love skipping through the commercials, so when a co-worker at Dish told me about the new feature I was so excited to check it out. Since most of my shows are on the PrimeTime Anytime and I wait until the next day to watch them I get to use this feature a lot. It doesn’t eliminate the commercials and you have to enable the feature, but it beats having to keep pressing the fast-forward button every time a commercial comes on. I absolutely love it!
I am one of those people that cannot stand sitting through commercials, so when I heard about them adding this feature I was so excited. A co-worker at Dish told me to try out this feature, so first thing I did when I went home was checked it out. I loved that I just had to prompt the feature to take effect when I went to one of the PrimeTime shows. I didn’t have to worry about getting in the right spot because it did it for me.
I think it is great that Cablevision is adding this app to the Mac and PC’s. I have been using my online streaming through Dish for a while now and I love it. The huge difference between Dish service and Cablevision’s app is that I can take mine outside my home network. I love it because I can go onto Dish Online and with the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver I can watch live TV outside of my home and access all my DVR recordings. A co-worker at Dish and I, were out the other day getting a manicure and we put on the Housewives of OC to catch up. I love that I can access my DVR recordings and all my subscription channels. This is watch Cablevision needs to do to make it a perfect app.
The Optimum feature that Cablevision has to offer on laptops will definitely be a bonus for all their customers that do not have an iPad. I use my services on my laptop and iPad through Dish all the time. I love the streaming service I have through Dish because I can take it outside of my home. The other day I took my iPad with a co-worker from Dish to get a manicure. We caught up on the Housewives of OC while we got our Mani and Pedi’s. With the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver and the Dish Remote Access app, I can access my subscription channels and DVR recordings from anywhere I can get a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. It is great to have my TV on the go and that is one thing Cablevision cannot do still.
My kids love playing with the iPad and Super Why is actually one of their favorite apps. Another one of their favorite apps is the DISH Remote Access app through DISH. With the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver we can watch any of our channels live from the iPad. With a 3G or Wi-Fi connection I can go anywhere and watch my shows. I love this app when we are traveling or to keep the kids entertained while I am doing the grocery shopping. A co-worker at DISH even told me that I could access my Blockbuster@Home service through my iPad, which means more family movies. This is one of my favorite apps as well.
I don’t think this new service is going to do much for the people that want to go to Netflix. I think it is more of a convenience of having all your entertainment choices on one account. That could be a big plus to having this streaming service through Comcast. However, DISH has had a streaming service for sometime and that is whom I have. I get streaming, DVD’s, and so much more. For as little as $10 a month and free for the first three months it is definitely worth it. A co-worker also told me that I could use it on my iPad also. I think Comcast has an awesome product that they are releasing, but it sounds like they are planning to make it available to only certain customers.
If this was announced 3 years ago I am not sure why it would be such a surprise that it is now going to happen. I have the Blockbuster@home service through DISH and I absolutely love it! I got it free for 3 months, which was awesome to be able to try it out. Now I only pay $10 a month and I get so much for that price. A co-worker at DISH even told me I could even use my streaming service on my iPad now. That will be really cool when we are traveling. It really is an awesome package and I love that I only have one bill for all my entertainment choices.
