Anyone going to set up a draft post? Because... WOW, Matt Barnes? Really?
Streaking, Again
You won't believe this, but the Boston Red Sox this year have been 33-0 when they score more runs than their opponents and 0-26 when they don't. OK, seriously, if it seems like this team is incredibly streaky, well, you're right. With their three-game sweep of the Oakland Athletics on the heels ...
Beckett off to a poor start for him this year, down 2-0.
Doubles: Sox-Tigers Twinbill Gamer
Yesterday Barcelona, one of our beloved teams, utterly dismantled Manchester United to complete a European football double. Today the Sox, another of our squads, plays a split set of games to make up for last night's rainout and tries to win two. Chat about both games here.
Unsung hero would be Albers if this lead holds up - getting the extended innings to save the bullpen!

Personally, I don't mind if the Yankees trade for those guys, as a Sox fan, but at some point, don't you have to stop trading away the young talent, bite the bullet, and just build with youth instead of trading them away to continue to stick fingers in a leaky dam?

The Mariners blog mentioned something about AJ taking a ball off his leg in the 5th inning.

I'm -still- trying to recover from the Bruins game, that damned game basically has the adrenalin going. And... egh. League looked brutally bad before, here he just looks like a groundball machine.

Considering that Seattle's closer is League, that's a better-than-even chance of getting to him.

If you want something else to chew on-
Aceves still had options left. The Yankees could have simply demoted him to the minors.
They released him instead.

We SFs owe many thanks for Brian Cashman's (indefensible?) release of a very solid non arb-eligible pitcher with a non-baseball-related injury making the Major League minimum. He's like the anti-Russell Martin! Except for the fact that his injury wasn't baseball-related and he would only have pul...
And they called the game. 14-1, Sox.

Yesterday's destruction of the Cleveland Indians is clearly the high-water mark of the Boston Red Sox' 2011 season thus far. In decisively winning their 10th of 12 games, the Sox are now a major-league-best 25-12 since starting the season 2-10. They and Cleveland are the only AL teams with a win...
They could. But they offered him a minor league contract. Boston (and I think the Mets may have also) offered him a major league contract.

I swear, if they call the game right here, Crawford will have not scored from third -again-....

At the current moment with the weather the way it is, I think the Sox would be best served taking the Reddick approach now!

I don't think Aceves is -that- bad a pitcher that you should worry about scoring too much.
That said, I think the Red Sox should play more day games.
