I love food. I love to eat. I don't always love to slave in the kitchen and then take breath-taking photos of kale (ok I have never taken a breath-taking photo of any food). I like to think I am a decent cook, a pretty good baker and a world-class... Continue reading

Several weeks ago I decided I needed a new challenge. I have been working out 5-6 days a week since January 2011. I thought about joining a gym and getting involved in spinning classes. The thought of getting up at 4-ish a.m. and driving to the gym and not to... Continue reading

I could go on and on about September 11th and what it means to me. But haven't you heard enough of that today? Wouldn't you rather think about the Dallas Cowboys playing tonight or what a wonderfully beautiful day is is outside? Wouldn't your rather look up at the sky... Continue reading

One of the questions I am pondering today is - should I join a gym. I have been working out 5-6 times a week since January - so working out commitment is not really in question. The Pros: - classes! - might actually become social - close by - open... Continue reading

No really....How do I find a church? My very first experience with a church that I can remember was following a cousin to Sunday School somewhere around the age of 8 maybe.... I remember not really understanding what was going on. I remember the Sunday School Teacher asking all to... Continue reading

I have spent the majority of my adult life in and out of a relationship with God. I have "tried" Him on time and time again - only to drift away and continue my search for something that will fill the void in my heart. I have searched far and... Continue reading

Most of us health-conscious folks have those things we eat only in the name of health. We don't really like them - we just eat them because we have read "somewhere" that they are good for us, will make us smarter, taller, skinnier, live longer, have less wrinkles, help us... Continue reading

Or is it a "fast" whatever you want to call it. I am stepping away from the internet for the next 36 days. I need to clear my head of the endless streams of information. And just listen for God's voice. The only site I will continue to update is... Continue reading

Have you ever been afraid of a drink? Alcohol or not, odds are somebody somewhere told you some drink was the most horrifying, disgusting, blech thing to pass their lips E.V.E.R. For me, it's been Guinness Yes, that Guinness - it's dark, it's deep, it's looks a little like a... Continue reading

Bejamin, Thank You! Book are one of my weak spots also! I'm thinking about asking for a Kindle for my birthday - at least that way all the books will be in one spot! And I just read recently that many libraries are now allowing you to check out e-books for the Kindle. I just feel so "owned" by my stuff.
I wanted this post to be called - Minimalism - but it hasn’t quite worked out that way. We have a garage sale deadline of April 29th looming over us. I thought to myself - “Self! This is the perfect time to sell everything we own except for essentials and... Continue reading
