After 9-11 we pulled together in this country. We all supported our President. At least for awhile. We realized for once that we're all in this together. Whatever the current 'this' happens to be. After the failed Christmas 09 airline attack the opposite happened. Politicians started criticizing everything our President said and did, even what he didn't say or do. I believe in the 'top down' idea that what happens at the top affects everyone underneath. I am troubled by what I recently heard a mega preacher say about Jesus. How when Jesus said "it is finished" that included our financial debts. This is absolutely not true! The son of God, whose birthday we supposedly observe this week, came to Earth to provide permanent forgiveness for the sins of everyone. He was crucified, one of the most terrible deaths imaginable. Playing a musical instrument used to be automatic in grade school. of course I wanted to play the drums, but my parents didn't agree-and now I understand that! Nowadays playing an instrument in school is an option at best. This is very sad because students miss a wonderful experience. Continue reading
