Aw Amanda. I have missed this place while I've been on vacation. I needed to hear this today. We all have these days, all of us, whether me admit it or not. Bravo for being honest and open. I too have cursed at my rabbits today after escaping for the 3 times this week!!!

I can't wait to get our copy from you! I also do not think you're selling me your book. But haters are gonna hate I suppose. My special place as a child was the bay. It was my backyard literally as a child. :) Now my kids have a big back yard (an acre) and a river to explore!

What a lovely giveaway! My little ones would love this... and me too :)
Steve- While I am not sure what your trade is, I must say you are quite the writer! So happy that you all are done with the heat wave. Here in Virginia we also only have two seasons.. a long hot humid summer and a short snowy winter ;) I grew up in a city called Virginia Beach- HUGE tourist destination in the summer, so I feel your pain. I still know all my hometown backroads from those crowded crazy summers.

You and me both Amanda. I've done the same thing a few times too many. I love knitting for the kids too for the same reason! And if it doesn't fit the eldest, it will fit a littler one!

We live in Virginia. One day last week our heat index was 133!!!!! Even our house was not cool and I think I only took the kids outside at 7am for less than 10 minutes. It was dangerous out. I filled up a pool for my animals. Even my chickens went for a swim. :( So we've been crafting a lot, we watched a "the sound of music" and made LOTS of fresh lemonade! Not to mention we have to move into our new house this weekend! http://dotingondeirdre.blogspot.com/

We live right next to Colonial Williamsburg! We love visiting and it never gets old. As a history major in college we also spent a lot of time there. Thanks for sharing!

Lovely, truly lovely. Summer and Fall were my favorite childhood seasons. We had a similar weekend on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Sadly however I left my camera at home (it was a 2 hour drive for us and I have yet to master packing up little ones efficiently!!!) But we still had a great time and instead of snapping pictures I was more involved. Beautiful memories they were too!

I am so very jealous. We live in a suburb with a big backyard. I would love to keep bees. My husband's German side of the family are bee keepers. Right now we have 5 chickens, 3 rabbits, 2 geese, and 2 ducks. I think once we've mastered our poultry, then I can plead for bees :)

I am so happy that she turned for you and that you got to have a little peek! I found out both my children's genders and had wonderful hospital births. This time around I will not find out the gender and try for a homebirth! Funny how that switches on you? I am just so happy for you all!
