I'm so glad I'm not the only one who still won't stop talking about Stiltsville. Love it!
I'm eagerly awaiting this one at my library. Good to know the next one is already out in the UK--I may have to resort to that too if I like it as much as you did.

I loved this one too! I've owned both of Flynn's earlier novels for years and still haven't actually read them, but part of me was glad to start with Gone Girl. I'm a big fan of unreliable narrators too, and this one did not disappoint.

I also adored White Woman on the Green Bicycle when I read it for the Orange shortlist. It was even my pick to read that year. I was excited to see Roffey has a new novel, although there seems to be no news of a U.S. publication. I'm somewhat glad to know this one isn't as amazing. I'll certainly get around to reading it in time, but it may not be one I pay to ship from the UK.

Our TBRs share many of the same titles! In fact, the only one I've read is I Am Forbidden, which is exquisite. It's one of my favorite reads of the year so far. Enjoy!
Elegy for Eddie is definitely my favorite Maisie novel yet. I love how Winspear is moving toward World War II. Too often mystery series don't move forward in the character's personal lives or time. I can't wait for the next one!
Those are some wonderful books! I adored The Scrapbook of Frankie Pratt--and it's a fast read! Elegy for Eddie is my favorite Maisie Dobbs book yet, and I am back to being sad the next one is so far off. Enjoy!

Oh, I adore Katie Fforde too! Stately Pursuits is the first one I read, so it holds a special place in my heart. I'll have to order a copy of Recipe for Love from the UK, as the U.S. releases are usually delayed at least a year. I so enjoy her novels, and she's one of the few authors I love as much now as I did when I discovered her novels more than ten years ago. I'm glad to know you're such a fan too!
I read Kevin last month and loved it. It was such a rich and detailed character study, and once again, Shriver blew me away. I can't wait to see the film, as I think Tilda was perfectly cast.
I have both Glaciers and Gillespie and I on my shelf to read too. Enjoy!

I've read three of Dunmore's novels and plan to dip into several more this year too. This one sounds so intriguing, and as I've read some of her more recent novels, I'm curious to go back to the beginning and try this one.
I really liked this one too and have been eager to read her earlier book. I grabbed it from the library and hope to get to it soon. If it's even better, then I'm even more excited to read it!
Both Gilead and its sequel Home are on my list for 2012. I'm also hoping to read at least one Anne Tyler book. I feel like she's an author I've missing out on because I'm intimidated by the sheer breadth of her backlist. Her forthcoming novel looks excellent, so I'll probably start there and move backwards. Good luck!

I'm incredibly impressed you upped your number of books so much this year! Your list of best reads is so eclectic, and it reminds me I must read Open. It was one of the first books I bought for my Kindle when I got it two years ago, but I still haven't read it. Perhaps it will get me in the mood for the Australian Open this year!
I am in complete agreement about Repeat It Today with Tears. I so wish it would have made the shortlist. I don't think it will quite make my top ten of the year, but it's a read I won't forget. I adored it.

Oh, I'm so glad to see Gillespie and I is your contemporary fiction pick for the year! I'm eagerly awaiting a review copy for the U.S. release next month. I'm looking forward to reading it!
