Hi Huli,
That's a fab way to reuse a shirt. I would be happy to add it to my post: How would you refashion a men's shirt (even though this one is a woman's shirt).
If you are interested do add a link to it in the comments of: http://roued.com/greyduckling/how-would-you-refashion-it-mens-shirts/

Stripes
Hi! My dad brought me back this shirt from overseas: I loved the stripes but the fit not so much! The fabric was also alil warm coming into summer so it got the chop: I used an old singlet for the red waistband and used fabric from one sleeve to make a bow: I also used one of the cuffs+som...

How would you refashion it (men's shirts)? and so long!
I am so sad to see Wardrobe Refashion stopping and that I won't be a Wardrobe Refashionista anymore. I so enjoyed this! I for one fully understand Nikki's decision to step back and try out new adventures and I think... Continue reading

Jane Austen dress refashion
Remember a couple of weeks ago when I asked how you would refashion a purple skirt that I had left over from Halloween? I received some pretty good ideas and most of them were focus sing on making it into a dress. This idea got caught in my head but I didn't feel that the skirt was long enough ...

Gray shift dress with vintage buttons
I had about three yards of this black/gray chambray in my stash from a clearance sale . . . I'd bought about 6 yards at the time for 2.00/yd., and I've used it as lining and to make another dress in 2008. However, I pulled it out and made a variation of a shift dress pattern (Butterick #B5347) ...
Thanks ladies.
I am really loving this skirt myself. I wore it this Saturday and felt really pretty!

Bubbly Berry Skirt
I have recently been doing a bit of dyeing with elderberries and dyeing with blackberries for Historic Crafts. This lead to the dyeing of a piece of raw silk which I transformed into the Bubbly Berry Skirt which you can read more about on my blog 'Grey Duckling'. I have been thinking about doin...

I have to have a go at doing surgery on a couple of t-shirts I have that are just big and unflattering.

T-shirt resizing surgery
The other day, I bought a new T-shirt. Not only did I break my pledge, it didn't even fit very well, See? Fortunately, I have developed a t-shirt cosmetic surgery procedure. I have now performed this surgery multiple times--even on cashmere--and my success rate is very high. You will even...
I love this idea and I can see why your daughter would love it too! It looks so cute and comfortable.

Old Shirt To Skirt With Pockets
I decided to remake this much to large shirt into a skirt for my daughter. I loved the detail on the fabric and the top of the shirt made it very easy to remake. I decided to try making pockets with the old sleeves. I cut the sleeves off a bit, tucked them in the shirt and sewed the ends. I...

That is such a simple but effective and wonderful idea. I love that type of blouse anyway - I must have a go at that!
A shirt from a sheet
A while back I bought these sheets that I love.... super soft cotton with this great pattern. So comfy. And I only ever use the fitted sheet and pillow cases, while the flat sheet just collects dust in the cupboard. So I decided to liberate it... I cut a strip along the top with the finished edg...
The other me - the mannequin
As I now own 4 different sewing machines, all about 100 years old, I decided last autumn that I wanted to do some more sewing with them. A friend came up with the idea of making mannequins, which would be... Continue reading
