I'm so sorry for not posting anything recent. I found out the other day that blogger prints your blog to book format. And I thought Whoa dang! That would be awesome to get for Luke's first birthday! Now, I'm not sure it was a reliable source. If not, all well. But in no way am I dissing Typepad. It was good while it lasted. So followers... you can find my new blog here: And as a last post.. I leave you with this... Continue reading

I started back at work this week. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be... maybe because we had some practice. For our first anniversary we went out to the movies and saw "SALT". Pretty good actually. I let Aldo pick. Afterwords we were tired and decided we needed some real rest. I set my alarm and konked out. At four in the morning I sat up and yelled "THE BABY!" I couldn't believe we forgot about him. Neither one of us woke up with my alarm. Thankfully Aldo's mom is a night person and didn't think anything... Continue reading

Let's talk about Luke. At his last appointment he was 9 lbs. 9 oz. (a total gain of 25 oz! when all they wanted was 5-10.. haha!) and 22.5 inches long. My baby is going to be a monster! Anyway, he's been sleeping ok, still not enough for us to feel well rested though. If I take a nap some time in the afternoon, it makes for a better night. Also, he's been making all kinds of faces. He now smiles at me! And recently he's started to raise an eyebrow. It's really funny. I've given up on breastfeeding (so... Continue reading

Well, I've now been stuck in the house for 3 weeks. It's been crazy. Especially this past week. I've been in and out of the hospital with numerous doctors about breastfeeding. Turns out I developed a staff infection and an abscess preventing me from feeding him. I'm on like four different pills. And I actually saw a specialist today and had to have an ultrasound done to see if the infection spread any further. My goodness! I never expected this to be a problem. I thought it would be... something like sleep deprivation or jaundice... So anyway, that's that. I... Continue reading

So it's been a little over two weeks. To make the story short, I don't have internet at home. And Aldo spilt water on the laptop so now it makes random noises and blinks a whole lot and doesn't turn on. May it rest in peace. Now for all the details. I was induced at 7:20am and I was already 3cm along. Immediately I started feeling contractions. I can't believe I was so worried I wouldn't know what they felt like. There is no way you can miss a contraction! The easiest way I can explain it, is that your... Continue reading

Stupid bugs keep hitting the computer screen (it's night and they're attracted to the light... why is that?) and I keep attacking them and smearing them everywhere and so I can't even get a word in. :( ... Ok, so a lot has happened. No baby yet. But we're pretty much there. Quick background... Sunday was our ALL DAY class about Childbirth. Highly recommend it, but man, it wears you out! And I learned so much stuff. We covered contractions (which is what I was most worried about. Not knowing that I'm having them and then speeding to the hospital... Continue reading

I just looked at the number... !! Not even two weeks!! And I really want to go to the zoo. But I know my ankles will swell. So I guess I can't. Anyway, the whole reason I was going to write today was because we had our Newborn Care class. I'm a little less nervous about taking care of him after the hospital... when we're at home all alone and thinking.. Ok, what do we do now?? We basically covered the car seat, changing diapers, first baths, sleeping time, feeding time, and swaddling. And the lady was really great at... Continue reading

So obviously something big has happened... Yesterday we went for my weekly checkup and to get my first "measurement" (to see how far I'm dilated). It started off nice. Gained 2 pounds in the last week. My blood pressure is amazing... apparently a lot of people have a blood pressure that goes up in the last days of pregnancy... but mine has been consistent all the way through. It impressed my doctor. :) And finally...! I've learned to pee in a cup! You won't want to know all the stories I have. Anyway, when the doctor came in we discussed... Continue reading

I am ready for this little monster to get out of me!! Not because I feel uncomfortable or anything. I just can't wait to see what he looks like and stay at home with him for weeks! :) A little bit of relaxation - that's what I need. For the past two days, I've gone swimming in our apartment pool. The first day I was with Aldo and the water was so cold. But I didn't care. I just wanted to get out in my itty bitty bikini. Love it! Well, we were competing against each other in how long... Oops, One thing. I'm swelling! I was getting into bed last night and looked down and gasped, "My ankles are CANKLES!" Aldo was laughing for thirty minutes straight. Probably another reason why I'm so tired. And he was poking at them too. Going Awww... honey, you do have cankles. Look at them. You're retaining water. And then he'd just laugh more. How rude! So.. the point is.. it's coming. I'm not looking forward to looking like a bloated up pregnant woman... especially in the face. What ever happened to the "glow"? I still haven't seen that yet. I am soo completely drained right now. Of all energy. I'd like to be a big baby and just tell work I can't work anymore, I hurt too much and I'm too tired, and have my husband rub my feet because they're swollen the size of balloons, and make me something good to eat, and pity me... but I can't. I'd feel guilty. And selfish. But it's a really good daydream anyways. Lately, there's been a lot going on. To keep it short, Aldo and I went to a breastfeeding class. It was really good and made me a little... Continue reading

I know.. I'm not keeping up very well on my blogging. Somehow, I've been constantly busy. Even though now that I look at it, I have no idea what I've been doing. ??? Anyway.... Last week I went to the doctor for my check up. I am currently 7 pounds away from matching my husband. A freaky idea. Yes, it's all baby, but still - I really don't picture myself weighing anything different than what I did before. Moving on, baby's measurements are fine. Heartbeat's fine. It's been a textbook pregnancy. We'll see if that's how it goes at the... Continue reading

I just sat here at work for 15 minutes with my hand on my belly. Poor little guy had the hiccups again. It's so weird that there's something in there. I don't know if I'll ever get used to that thought or feeling. And as my hand was laying there I thought... my hand is almost touching his head... his head is right here... It was such a wonderful thought, I had to share it. Had the first baby shower last night, given by Aldo's friends. It was for guys and girls, so they had all kinds of hand foods,... Continue reading

It's been a while. This I know... Last weekend Aldo and I went to a youth conference called Consumed. My goodness. It was so much fun! Somehow I got put in charge of three girls, one of them being my sister, and the others I already knew. Easy. Aldo got a group of four or five from a different church altogether and later found out that they were the most "rowdy". lol My poor husband. A nyway, we would go to praise and worship and then listen to a speaker... back to back to back to back. And sometimes we... Continue reading

A deer practically jumped over my car on the way to work today!!! It was insane. And it didn't freak me out much either. But afterwards, I was just like.. wow. Timing is pretty much everything. We were on our way to work and running a little bit late. Then my dad calls with info about taxes. (It's the 14th and I still haven't done much with them.) So I'm talking on the phone with him and then Aldo jumps out, I throw the phone across the car and race around to the other side (there's a line of cars... Continue reading

Oh man Oh man... I'm starting to freak out a little bit. lol Only 10 more weeks left?! Just got back from my librarian conference. Besides the not being able to drive off whenever I want to, shop til I drop cuz there's no shopping around, and cook homemade meals, oh and being surrounded by women ..crazier than the usual I think.. other than all those things, it was pretty fun. I learned lots of stuff - secret librarian things that I can not reveal to an everyday civilian. Here's a hint though gumshoe. Unshelved. Moving on... while I was... Continue reading

I went to the doctor today and got my results for my blood test: I do not have gestational diabetes. Yay! Other baby things going on... well.. I feel like my hips are splitting in half most days. I've also been getting charlie horses I guess (I'd call them cramps in my legs and feet) from rolling onto my back while I'm asleep. Doctor says I should surround myself with pillows so I roll over onto those, or so they stop me. I already do that though. Doesn't much help apparently.. And he just moves around a whole lot. A... Busy day again. Busy month actually. Just started putting our "budget" into practice for our class, because April finally started and we went and filled up on groceries today. So far, it's looking like a good month. :) Lots of stuff the husband can cook... Next week I'm going out of town for a conference my work is sending me to. Pretty neat. I'm kind of nervous. It's like the first day of school. He he. And I'll be gone three days. What will I do without Aldo? I'm sure he'll be fine, but I need the socialness with him!... Continue reading

We registered yesterday. For baby stuff. (I was just trying to think what happened yesterday morning.. I can't seem to remember. I know we went to Aldo's parents' house and made macaroni and cheese, and then after that went real quick to their library to print off some stuff, but I can't think what happened before that. And it makes me sooo mad because I know we had to wake up early to do it. !!! ... Aldo calls it "pregnancy brain". Must be. I have no other excuse.) So anyway, we registered at Walmart afterward. Meant to go to... Continue reading

I went to a countdown website today because I forgot how far along I was.. woops. Found out some interesting info. I did not conceive on my 21st birthday (which is what I was thinking at first). :) Heh heh heh.. that's funny. Also I am 67% through my pregnancy and only have 33% left to go. Cool. I don't think I could last any longer than that. What is it??.. elephants carry their babies for like 2 years... As for what I've been doing lately... Financial class - We went this past Sunday and as homework had to make... Continue reading

It's been a while since I've put anything on here. I honestly don't remember what I've been doing the last couple weeks. All well. So last Sunday we started Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace class through our church. I don't think Aldo was really into going to this class at first (something about his machismo, ego, whatever you call it), but now he's like "I never want to miss a class". I'll probably have more stories about that later. Nothing much as been happening with the baby. He isn't moving as often or as hard as he was before. Not sure... Continue reading

Oh man I am soo bored right now. I'm stuck at work on a Saturday and the sun is finally starting to shine. No more sitting in the car waiting for the doors to unfreeze so I can close them... no more watching my step on sidewalks so I don't slip on the ice... no more worrying about other drivers and their crazy speeding... no more COLD period. I can't wait to just get in a swimsuit with my belly poppin out and swim at the pool or sit on the beach. I had this daydream a while back that... Continue reading

Today I broke my finger. :( Not really, but it sure felt like it. I was reading 30 Years of Garfield.. a huge book.. and accidently dropped it and when picking it up, bent my finger back and now it's all swollen and hurts real bad. Darn books. They ruin lives I tell you! Aside from that.. today I realized that being a parent may get exhausting. I can barely get my socks on any more and it's really hard to shave. I'd go without if I could - nevermind. I'm going to stop that thought process right now. Ew.... Continue reading
