Propaganda art may, of course, be subverted to our own nefarious purposes...

Back in my Snot-Nose Days, I used to love the days we would spend at the Museum of Natural History in New York, right on the west side of Central Park. It was an expedition of sorts, requiring a trip into Manhattan on the Long Island Rail Road - exciting in itself! Once at the Museum, I'd want to spend as much time as possible at the Hayden Planetarium. There was an orrery that showed (more or less) the relative sizes and positions of the planets. There were scales, each one calibrated to show how much you would weigh on a different planet. And there was the Planetarium itself, with its huge, exotic Zeiss projector casting star-images on the domed ceiling. As we would leave the Planetarium, I would always be taken aback by the fact that it was still daytime outside, so completely had I been mesmerized by those Zeissian night skies...

I read your site regularly...but I'm somewhat invisible because I use my Bloglines RSS aggregator to read most of the sites on my blogroll, and unless you're looking at stats for your RSS subscribers, you won't know when I stop by. I'll admit I'm lazy about commenting. But that's because I'm a lazy slob...and it's a pain in the ass to comment on sites that require sign-in. I've found that Haloscan's commenting service works pretty well. They screen out almost all of the spam, and they make it easy to comment. Typepad is another story. At the end of the day, write for yourself. Write because you love to write and share something of yourself. Ignore or ban annoying commenters. If you are true to yourself, readers will find you...and will keep coming back.
