P.S. It particularly resonates because my son just finished middle school and it was a rough few years trying to keep him focused on school. I know it's normal for that age, but it's still stressful and I do worry about how he'll handle high school and everything else, but I try to keep perspective and remind him of our love and pride too. But yeah, just people. How to balance teaching responsibility and good life skills without screwing us all up emotionally is hard.
