I grew up in Western Michigan. I spent a great deal of my youth on the shores of Lake Michigan, taking measure of each season with the activities I enjoyed there. In the winter, we always went to The Lake... Continue reading

The great thing about blogs is that they last forever. Or that is my assumption. This blog started way before Facebook took off. But when Facebook did take off, it took me away from this blog. And now I am... Continue reading

On March 19th, 2011, at Arc Project Gallery in San Francisco, we had the opening for Panamax. Getting ready for the opening, especially the two weeks before, represented a painting marathon. But something wonderful happened along the way - I... Continue reading

I've been busy. As of yesterday I have all nine of my canvases prepared for the Panamax show, and I have all the images "chopped" in. My printmaking experience is helping me immensely with this series - breaking the composition... Continue reading

I am beginning a new series of paintings this week for this show, Panamax, in which I will be sharing a bill with my friend and fellow artist Mike Kimball. I am going to monitor my progress here. Today, I... Continue reading

Update: Since I started C25K in March, I've shed 22 pounds and 4 inches from my waist. Perhaps best news of all, I went to the doc today for a checkup, and I no longer need to take meds to lower my blood pressure. I cannot believe that it all started with those 30 second runs that left me winded - now I run three 5 mile jaunts a week. Thanks so much for this program! At 44, I feel like an entirely new dude.

Thanks Sckraps! I am about to begin work on a new series of twelve 3-color prints for a show in August. I have to perfect printing them on my etching press. Ill be posting here on my progress. Keep toying with relief prints - youll be doing multi-color in no time. Cheers, Eric Rewitzer (aka The Lonely Robot)

"Port Authority" features 20 paintings, all paying homage to the Bay Area's maritime heritage. The geometry, scale, and grit of this landscape has always inspired me, and this series hopes to capture a sense of the random beauty of this... Continue reading

In 1984, I spent the summer on the Camp Pendalouan staff in Montague, Michigan. In addition to leading songs about the great ship Titanic around the campfire, walking through quaking bogs and marshes full of mud, swimming every day in... Continue reading

Here are some shots of the painting I just finished, commissioned by a collector in Atlanta. While I have painted this before, this painting is much larger - 60" wide by 30" high - and I really enjoyed working it... Continue reading

It is that time of the year. In the spring, I like to walk around my backyard garden to see what is happening there. Spring hits early here in San Francisco - I saw the first daffodils pop up in... Continue reading

Today it seems routine to go to the computer and get snippets of people's lives. But don't you think a blog paints with a broader and bolder stroke, with words for more expression, depth, and insight than a status update... Continue reading

Davey, just go to iTunes, go to the store, get into the Podcast section, and search for Couch to 5k. You will find it there for free. Glad to hear you started, too, mg. Small world! Week 2 began today. Six 90 second runs with a 2 minute rest between. Still very easy, and enjoyable. Instead of stones, when I see an intact sand dollar, I pick that up, and pretend it is my payment for the run.
