was lucky to 'escape the office' for an hour or so this morning to get up to Jupiter Peak for, what I think, was the best powder skiing of the season (so far). I'm not sure if it's some sort of April Fools prank or what, but the skiing and riding the past few days has been epic...and because of that we are extending our season by a week, with our scheduled closing day now pushed back to April 18, 2010! Thanks for the Pinecone update Mark, I may just 'have' to try to come up and take some photos. Your post is certainly a reminder that we should all take heed that there's still some very good skiing and riding available in the resorts where snow safety has been conducted and that we must very cautious when venturing out into the backcountry right now. Good luck in getting things going better tomorrow morning!

Mark, Thanks again for all the work you and the rest of our patrol guys and gals do here at PCMR. Having had the privilege to follow along on a morning or two, I'll vouch that snow safety work is definitely hard and often dangerous work that isn't anywhere near as glamorous as it sounds. So sorry to hear about the incident in Jackson - I'll be sure to raise one for Wally tonight! -Eric 406 replies: Thanks Eric
