I WANT THAT HOUSE.
Ten things I'm into this weekend
01. The locations in the film Something Borrowed, and specifically Rachel's apartment: This movie was surprisingly cute. We watched it last night instead of watching most of The Olympics opening ceremonies (though we did catch the parade of nations). I'm a bad American, and I'm sorry about that...
love this post. love you. congratulations to you and J on 9 years!
i carry him in my heart
I met my husband in March 1995. Next year, he will officially have been in my life longer than I ever lived without him. This fact is basically more mind blowing to me than any birthday (hello 35, I see you sneaking up behind me there) could ever be. We married in 2003, We (ok mostly him) got s...
jennnnnnn... you made me cry.
i love this. i love YOU.
i carry you in my heart
Today started my baby boy's first day of the second grade. His babyhood passed me by in a blur of milk and frustration and laughter. Everything about him was brand new and something to learn, and not without its overwhelmingness, but comprised of more joy and love than I ever thought I was pos...
"back to the weight where my body is most comfortable and where I feel the most like myself."
this has been the most important thing for me too. i'm happy to be skinnier, healthier, stronger.... but mostly i'm glad to be feeling happier, more energized. i'm happy (and not so happy) that my will to shop has returned, that i've taken a renewed interest in making myself look nice again. not that i didn't before - but i was more concerned about just trying to blend myself into the woodwork, so that people wouldn't pay attention to how fat i really was, because i was so uncomfortable with it. feeling comfortable enough to finally STOP doing that has been the best feeling ever.
i'm proud of you, because you've come so far already. squish is lucky to have such a wonderful mama and role model to look up to. :)
but wait - there's more
Just about everyone who knows me knows that I've battled my weight most of my adult life. I've never been a small person, but as a teenager I was healthy and had a decent shape. Adulthood took over and my weight grew with my age. In my late 20s, I decided I'd had enough, and dropped 95 pounds. I...
your face is looking super skinny these days!
and that meme is ancient, if you're pulling it from the defunct typepad blog. maybe i'll attempt it again, and possibly even finish it this time ;)
30 days meme - day 1
So, yeah - we already did the intro, right? Right. So now we're going to do this 30 day meme floating around forever ago (which I am stealing from Cori. Obviously when you're blogging, you want to find an excuse to talk about yourself. And this is a 30 day thing, which will help me get back into...
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
hello, there
So after much hemming and hawing, I've started a blog again. It's been a long, long time since I've blogged at all, and I'm going to assume that a lot of you reading this right now already know me. But in case I'm wrong... Hi, I'm Jenn. I've been here and there over the years, but mostly just Tw...
Day 11: Another picture of you and your friends
Tream drama strikes again! ............. I've been absent from this for a bit (try, like, almost a month), and I'm going to hopefully give this another go. There have been some really good things happening in real life, along with some really draining things. Most days when I get home,... Continue reading

Droolworthy Dinners: Chicken French and Vodka Sauce
I was in the mood for chicken french a few weeks ago, so I scrounged up a recipe from allrecipes.com, which is my go-to site for all things tasty. I found a recipe that was pretty close to what I figured would be chicken french, and had a high rating,... Continue reading

Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are...
Happy: Generally I tend towards more upbeat music, like fun musical theatre soundtracks and the glee soundtrack. Sad: Ani DiFranco's Revelling: Reckoning album. Bored: I'll listen to whatever I feel like listening to. Hyped: upbeat music, usually with a strong bass line. Mad: songs with lyrics dealing with anger. Generally,... Continue reading

Day 09: Something you’re proud of in the past few days
Not much. I feel like I'm flailing, work-wise, and my days really haven't been filled with anything but monotony. Wish I could report otherwise. Continue reading

Day 08: Short term goals for this month and why
My short term goals for this month are pretty straightforward: 1. Financially, I would like to stop spending so much money. For the most part, I've been doing pretty good at this - lots avoiding my usually online shopping haunts and target like the plague. Right now the balance on... Continue reading

Retail Therapy
I. AM. SO. STOKED. I was flipping through the Bed Bath and Beyond ad that came in the mail yesterday. They have a pretty what will be an awesome deal on Cuisinart Hard Anodized cookware, once I do my serious discounting. The set includes: 1.5 and 2.5qt covered sauce pans... Continue reading

Day 07: A picture of someone/something that has had an impact on you
l'm use this picture to represent a few things. The woman directing is my high school chorus teacher. She, along with every other music teacher that I had growing up, had a tremendous impact on my decision to go into music education. Although this is a fairly recent picture (and... Continue reading

Day 06: Favorite Super Hero
I was never really into the whole "super hero" thing growing up. Even as an adult, I could really care less. However, this guy? He really does it for me. Continue reading

Day 04: a habit you wish you didn't have
I have ugly hands. I mean, they're not hideous looking, or bony, or sausage finger-y. But from the top knuckle up, they're a trainwreck, and there really isn't much I can do to fix them. Let's start with my nails. My nails are oddly shaped. They have a very short... Continue reading

Day 03: A picture of you and your friends
This one is hard for me, because I honestly don't have very many pictures of my friends and I together. I haven't had a camera that takes decent pictures in years. I'm currently lusting after a new one, but a new laptop is a little higher (and more expensive) on... Continue reading

Day 02: The meaning behind your blog name
I've had an American Eskimo Dog in my life since I was five years old. I went with my family to pick one out from an ad in the local paper. I remember going into the house and seeing a bunch of squirming puppies in a big cardboard box together.... Continue reading

30 days challenge: day 01
In order to get myself back in the habit of writing on a regular basis (and let's face it... I'm also trying to get out of doing housework too), I decided to start working on a "30 days" challenge that I saw making the rounds on twitter. I like this... Continue reading
