As the post notes, this poll is about pre-Eureka, jc, but thanks for the Henry love!
Glimpses of our characters as kids in episode 418, "This One Time At Space Camp," got us thinking, whose pre-arrival-in-Eureka backstory is your favorite? Online Surveys & Market Research Continue reading

The Astraeus selections have been made -- with some surprising omissions and inclusions -- DOD relationship auditor Warren Hughes (Wallace Shawn!) returned, and we got to see some of our favorite characters long before they came to Eureka. What did you think of the episode? Discuss in the comments! Boilerplate reminders: Please be courteous and respectful. Thoughtful debate is great, but personal attacks on other posters or being a jerk are not. Comments may contain spoilers, so if you don't want those, best to stop reading here... We'll try to get to any questions when we can, but your patience... Continue reading

Jennifer: While it's more than likely Allison and Nathan also went through some sort of DOD vetting process and just handled it quietly (that is, offscreen), Allison and Carter are a special case given his role as sheriff. As we've seen on the show, the head of GD and Eureka's sheriff can have conflicting interests and responsibilities, and that's complicated when the two people involved are, well, involved. :) Hence the relationship audit.

Wallace Shawn on Eureka? Conceivable! Love -- and poison gas! -- is in the air in "Clash of the Titans." Allison and Carter find themselves on the wrong side of some red tape, Henry and Grace take the next step, Holly and Fargo contemplate their next step, and Jo and Zane do the horizontal two-step (a lot). And Titan is closer than ever-- too close, in fact. What did you think of the episode? Discuss in the comments! Boilerplate reminders: Please be courteous and respectful. Thoughtful debate is great, but personal attacks on other posters or being a jerk are... Continue reading

Hey, Zane-complainers, read the post! :) We left him out on purpose along with Fargo, Jo, Parrish, and Holly because they already did their hard time in the iso-chamber, and because we already saw how they performed in that particular test.
Toggle Commented Aug 19, 2011 on Poll: "Of Mites and Men" at EUREKA UNSCRIPTED
(We're posting polls inspired by Eureka Season 4.5 episodes! If you haven't seen the episode, heads up -- mild spoilers follow.) This week’s episode “Of Mites and Men” shows selection for the Astraeus mission getting downright mental. This story, like last week's physical fitness training, was inspired by real qualification tests for aspiring astronauts… doesn't look like a picnic, does it? And of course who's locked up with you would make all the difference. Which Eureka character would you want to be trapped with in an isolation chamber? (We've exempted the characters who were tested in the episode -- Zane,... Continue reading

Even being strangled by his tie, Carter sure looks nice in a suit, doesn't he? Allison's back in action, Astraeus selection brings things up close and personal, and GD deals with an only-in-Eureka bug problem. What did you think of the episode? Let us know in the comments! Boilerplate reminders: Please be courteous and respectful. Thoughtful debate is great, but personal attacks on other posters or being a jerk are not. (We're posting polls inspired by Eureka Season 4.5 episodes! If you haven't seen the episode, heads up -- mild spoilers follow.) We were so excited when the story idea that became "Omega Girls" first came up in the room! Here was the perfect chance to put our own Eureka spin on a classic story: a man (or woman) alone in a fight against overwhelming odds. Now that the episode has aired, we’ve chased down some of our favorite/infamous examples of the theme. Vote for the one you liked the best! Of course, if we’ve missed yours, drop us a note... SARAH NICOLE JONES Producers' Assistant/Writers' PA Though various historians disagree on the date, Sarah Nicole Jones was rumored to have been born sometime in the 1980's. Reports from this time in history are unreliable at best, but we do know that she comes from Louisiana - a planet just south of the Mason-Dixon line. Her family was 16th generation New Orleans, which meant she could trace her illustrious lineage back to the pirate and the *cough* harlot that founded that muggy bog. Faced with going into the family business of moonshining/swamp spelunking, she opted, instead, to strike out West. From... Continue reading

UPDATE: Syfy has ordered an additional Season 5 episode! This 13th episode, airing in 2012 with the rest of Season 5, will be the series finale. We're excited to give the show -- and all you fans -- a satisfying ending. Read more about it on Blastr. * * * As you may have heard, Syfy has decided that Season 5 will be the final season of Eureka. Here's their official statement: "After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is... We got trouble, right here in Eureka city... ...Trouble with a capital "T" and that rhymes with B and that stands for BEVERLY! Allison wasn't exactly herself this episode, and before anyone could do anything about it Beverly executed a shocking plan. Only Zoe and Jo can save the day in Salli Richardson-Whitfield's directing debut, a Eureka-fied take on those action thrilers we all love. Plus, there's a cameo from one of the cutest characters from Season 4.0! What did you think of "Omega Girls"? Discuss it in the comments! Boilerplate reminders: Please be courteous and respectful. Thoughtful debate is... Continue reading

(We're posting polls inspired by Eureka Season 4.5 episodes! If you haven't seen the episode, heads up -- mild spoilers follow.) Astraeus selection kicked into high gear in this week's episode, "Up in the Air." Jo played drill sergeant, putting Global Dynamics' best and brightest through their physical paces, and as you saw it was harder on some people than others. Which character's approach to Jo and her demanding "lab" of physical fitness is most like yours? Online Surveys & Market Research Continue reading

Much as we'd all like to believe that SARAH and Andy are omniscient, they aren't. :) They glitch, they need updates, etc. Storywise, we get penned in if any particular piece of technology is too powerful because then there isn't anything for the other characters do to do. Regarding SARAH and Allison's neural implants, Beverly and her group know exactly who and what they're dealing with in Eureka (or think they do, anyway). They would have engineered their tech to be undetectable to SARAH and everything else they expect at GD. Grace didn't find anything, remember. It's only the Higgs Field disruption causing Allison's lost time that drove her to use a brand-new piece of advanced equipment -- one Beverly and co. couldn't have anticipated -- which revealed the implants at all.

LYNN RENEE MAXCY Producers' Assistant Somewhere growing up in Arvada, Colorado, a very young Lynn [information redacted for security purposes]. Lynn survived [the event] with a great love for Scotland, the power to fly, and an insatiable appreciation for the powers of really good coffee. And thus began Lynn’s double life as a supersecret superhero, GIRL!* As part of her cover story, Lynn became a wallflower who stayed mostly below the radar and only occasionally became a rocker chick when she was on stage with her band. She spent four years of her life at the University of Colorado and... Continue reading

Don't get too excited about that bank robbery yet, Sheriff... Carter came this close to getting to investigate a normal, old-fashioned crime in this week's episode, like in his US Marshal days-- before he's reminded that nothing in Eureka is either normal or old-fashioned. We also had Jo and Zane taking their relationship to a new and perhaps surprising level, learned Something Important about Allison, and witnessed the gauntlet thrown down in the Parrish-Fargo-Holly triangle. What did you think about episode 414? Let us and other fans know in the comments! Boilerplate reminders: Please be courteous and respectful. Thoughtful debate... Continue reading
