The clown? I didn't see you blaming Romney for everything Obama did.

It really bothers me that people attack the negative wealth thing on the Oxfam report without stopping for a moment to ask what difference a different accounting of the numbers would make... and the answer is really, not a lot. Anyway, I think the compelling argument made by inequality (as opposed to just poverty) is that of *power*. Which I think goes into the feudalism thing. The collapse of capitalism into what increasingly seems like a global feudalism is not about the injustice of luck, but about concentration of power into tiny slivers of the population that become the sole people that matter.

What an incomprehensible analysis. No sourcing, no graphs, no significance values. Tables embedded as images. Never ask an attorney to do a statistician's job.

That thing about WWII fighter pilots is interesting but I think misses two essential points you need to consider: 1. German fighter tactics was very squadron leader centric. The squadron leader was meant to get the bulk of the kills while the rest of the squadron covered his back, spotted for enemies, and so on. The system of rewards complemented that - the squadron gained prestige on the backs of their 'experten'. "And of these Hauptmann Tietzen, my Staffel commander alone has nineteen! I witnessed most of his kills. It is fantastic, the way he shoots. He is the boss, he moves us into position and selects the victims, and we have to do little more than cover him. There is a wonderful sense of teamwork in the Staffel. With his twentieth victory, the Ritterkreuz will be due. For me, the award of the Iron Cross, First Class, has been imminent since my fourth kill." 2. Complementary to this is that German pilots lied. A lot. Tot up the total number of kill claims and compare it to actual losses of Allied aircraft and you'll find a kill inflation of routinely 300% or more. So to what extent can be say that pilots actually improved, vs lied more to maintain their position?

Wasn't that Forbes article based on early incorrect turnout estimates?
