"The GOP candidates are all working hard to carry a system of negative qualities to complete perfection. ..........................." Not Ron Paul!
Think of all religions as different channels on TV. Do yourself a favor. Turn off the set, go outside and see the world as it is.

Watched the Republican debate last night. It was a real eye opener for me. Ron Paul got booed when he said the US should have greater respect for the sovereignty of other nations and refer to the golden rule when dealing with other countries. The audience did not see any relationship between the recession the US is in and it's foreign policy. I find it constantly amazing that the citizens of the Strongest country in the world (by far), and that has no enemies on it's borders are always so scared!
Ron Paul makes people think! pull US troops back to USA,Close bases Crazy/makes sense Go to gold standard: Crazy/much of world moving this way let all non violent drug offenders out: crazy/way to move forward get rid of EPA, strengthen property rights crazy/new way of looking at who is responsible for pollution get rid of fed dept of education crazy/state responsibility get rid of patriot act: crazy/stop being afraid and loosing privacy and basic rights legalize marijuana crazy/take personal responsibility Just to name the first that come to mind!

This idea is starting to be mentioned on the web sites I visit. I think it would be great for America, not to mention an interesting show for America watchers. Happy Festivus for the rest of us. F.D.
Other than they are both speeches at the end of a war, they have nothing in common that I can see. Lee's at least had a purpose, to help ensure the fighting would stop, and healing could begin. The Iraq war was so pathetic, that even a good reason for it having been fought could not be found by the speaker.
"You ask about Turkey. those who watch Turkey know that Erdogan is re-structuring the security forces to remove the threat of army interference with his program." So you don't think Erdogan is acting as a Turkish Statesman, and is doing his part to complete the ninety year evolution of Turkey from a reform minded dictatorship, to a military guaranteed democracy, to a mature Republic (like the USA), where the army serves, and is controlled by the elected Government?

How could Russia not be upset with US missles next to it's border? Why would they give the US a free ride when the US ignores their discomfort? Do you think Russia has forgotten the "Help" the US gave them when THEY were in Afganistan? Plus the US is giving their friend and trading partner Iran a hard time. Also note that Russia, China, South Korea, and Vietnam amoung others are buying gold in large amounts and starting to trade w/o using US Dollars. The US still can borrow money cheap and in it's own currency but who knows what the future may bring. Your last Post said Ron Paul is too old. Maybe, but i.m.h.o., he is the only candidate that "gets it".
No, I'm serious, this is a beautiful project. Not all great things have to have a business plan that shows $$$$$ return. P.S. Managed to get my mug shot posted using Open ID.

What retreating army has left it's diplomats, a palace guard of 160 warriors, and 5000 mercenaries & servants in fortified strongholds on the field of battle? I'm the world's biggest coward, but you couldn't pay me enough to stay behind when the troops are gone!!

Add Canada to the list. Steven Harper's government is a super Israeli supporter. This Support comes top down from Mr. Harper and some of his closest advisors in the PMO (Prime Minister's Office). It's a matter of politics. IE. votes and contributions.
