I have generally been a fan of Bolton, because his views have been more aligned with mine in specific areas, but I DO worry that he's more of an Establishment / DC Swamp Creature than I would prefer. This, and his firing by Trump, make me worry that he will take this opportunity to "dish some dirt" to get even with Trump. Hope I'm wrong.

What do we now know about the democrats and career diplomats? 1. They are crooks. 2. They are arrogant. 3. They are boring. 4. They are stupid. As President Trump said yesterday, "This might be easier than I thought!" We knew this after the Kavanaugh hearings, yet the American electorate REWARDED the Dems with control of the House, when we knew further impeachment attempts would be the inevitable outcome. I remain pessimistic.

Ukraine is clearly corrupt. But let's give them BILLIONS of dollars in weapons and money! Without trying to clear up corruption.

I want to know why we still have ANY nukes in Turkey. Why didn’t we get them out after Erdogan purged his Army .... er, I mean, put down the “coup” attempt?

I used to have an X301, which was great. My major gripe with Lenovos is all the Lenovo apps that come pre-installed that I don’t want. After a while, it started running slow, too. Took forever to launch Windows and do anything. But I ultimately discovered that I had a problem with my Windows user profile. I created a new profile and deleted the old one, and was astonished at how fast things ran! Almost like I had done a factory reset and upgraded the processor. LOL

DrJ, I’ve been very happy with a Samsung Galaxy Book, 10.5”, 128GB, WiFi, Win10 Home. Small and lightweight, SSD, comes with a stylus, and detaches as a tablet from its case with very portable keyboard. Runs well with a BT mouse. Downside is that it’s just 128GB with a single USB-C port for charging and input. But I can usually do everything I want to do ... run Office 365 as well as almost all other apps I need ... from just this configuration. But you’ll want and need a USB-C—USB converter if you want to use older thumb drives, as well as a USB-C port replicator/docking station if you need to sometimes hook up to other devices (printers, HDMI, USB, audio, etc.). And will also probably want to have access to a cloud storage site to store docs, etc. My Office 365 subscription comes with a 1TB OneDrive site, so I have found that to be adequate so far. But as far as ease of use and mobility .... it’s awesome! Much better than the 17” HP Envy 17T I sometimes still lug around! That sucker is heavy!

rse, I really admire and appreciate the yeoman work you've done researching and exploring the impact of Leftist/globalist ideology on education. If I knew half the stuff you know, I'd be even more pessimistic about the future than I already am. My main hope is that younger generations tend to rebel against "The Establishment". As this becomes more and more the established and prevailing social paradigm, hopefully they will rebel against it. Just hope it happens before they vote away all our rights and vote us into socialist hell.

MM, I apologize for offending you. But I would have said what I said whether or not I had been aware of your absence. As I have been absent, too. And I thought my comment showed continued support for Trump, so it wasn’t about that.
When streetgang thugs have you surrounded and are pummeling you with brass knuckles and nunchuks and shivs, you don’t “put up your dukes” and hope the thugs will also obey the Queensbury rules. You use Krav Maga and kill and incapacitate as many of them as you can.
lyle, Maybe I am more of a Cellar person! Closer to a bomb shelter. LOL
“As I see this draining taking at least a decade, we will need an excellent candidate to follow Trump.“ Posted by: D | August 11, 2019 at 06:32 PM And I think the GOP maintaining control of POTUS and even one house of Congress is very unlikely at that point. Millennials, illegal immigrant voters, and social media will see to that. Whatever gains Trump perhaps makes in 2 terms will begin to be whittled away, and we quickly return to the status quo ante Trump.
Just because I am on the Ledge doesn’t mean that I don’t have “hope” or that everything is “hopeless”. And just because I don’t have TomR’s or RG’s or MissMarple’s “Trump is an effing 4D chess master and our Holy Saviour” hopes and dreams, doesn’t mean that I am hyper-critical of Trump’s performance or that I don’t support every effing thing he’s doing or has done. He was not my first choice, but I rallied around him when he won the primaries, and I think he’s done the best job anyone could have done, especially given the incessant shitstorm directed at him. I don’t think any other GOP member could have come close to doing what Trump has done. I support Trump and will vote for him in 2020. Au contraire, as others have stated, we must always have “hope”. But that hope, IMHO, is always based on “realistic” aspirations. I can hope to look just like The Rock, Dwayne Johnson, all I want ... I can work out everyday, starve myself, drinks lots of whey protein shakes, dye my hair or go bald, have cosmetic surgery to make myself look more Filipino, etc, etc. But, alas, I will never completely achieve my goal. I am too old, too short, too chubby now, too grey, too blue-eyed, and too Caucasian to ever really achieve that goal. By the same token, I think the Deep State and Establishment oligarchy are too vast, too corrupted, and too far past the point of salvaging to ever hope that Trump or the remaining American patriots who want to save America can do so WITHIN and USING the existing legal and electoral systems. Just my opinion. YMMV, and good for you if it does. My hope is that enough Americans finally reach that last straw and REVOLT, before we are all fully cooked in this heated pot and boiled to death, completely enslaved by this tyrannical Leviathan of 5he corrupt Deep State / Establishment UniParty / globalist / socialist New World Order. Just how long we delay this action will determine how bloody and violent things get ... unless we just keep simmering in the pot, holding on to our faith in these corrupted systems and institutions, hoping someone will save us. WE are our own Holy Saviours.
Dammit! Will finish that thought as soon as I can.

Ig, and now those witnesses have seen that even someone like Epstein can be killed in custody. They’ll be asking themselves, if that can happen, can it happen to them, too? Of course. This will have a stifling effect on their willingness to come forward, IMHO. The feds may gather important evidence from other sources, but their testimonies .... as the victims .... will be critical.
I take no joy in being a Ledge dweller, and I am certainly not gloating about recent events. I weep for the future of this country, and for my son. Epstein’s “suicide” is just the latest nail in the coffin. But what will be the final straw that breaks the camel’s back, and sparks the revolution? At some point, we frogs either decide to jump out of the heated pot or get boiled to death.
Mueller just looks like a doddering old fool to me. Just wondering what the fallout from this circus will be. I still think he's a Deep State Black Hat.

"I think it is completely unrealistic to believe von Braun and the other scientists had the option to defect back in 1943 timeframe. IMO they would have been branded as traitors and executed or imprisoned on the spot." They didn't "have" the option. They would have TAKEN the option. They would have MADE the effort, if necessary. That's the point I'm making. Of course, they would have been branded as traitors. They would only have been executed or imprisoned IF ... IF .... IF they'd been caught. A great risk, I know. I never said defecting was going to be easy or without risk. Far from it. I know, as you stated, that it would have ALWAYS been extremely difficult to do, especially prior to Normandy, when Germany controlled the continent. But if he'd wanted to defect, with his resources, even with the Gestapo closely monitoring his communications, I believe he could have somehow notified the Allies that he wanted to defect and that some resources (partisans, guerillas, OSS, British commandos, etc) would have been made to assist. Failing that, he could have taken the Rommel option. Extreme, but that's what people with real "morals" do ... they hurt themselves before hurting others. Would I have done the same? To be honest, I'm not sure. And I hope to never been in that situation.

"Good Lord. Do you really believe the Nazis/SS would have allowed someone like Von Braun to defect in 1943 on the grounds he disapproved of what they were doing to the Jews?" Good Lord! Do you really believe the Nazis/SS would allow anyone like Braun to just defect? If you think he could have just asked them, "Pretty please? Can I go now?" you're really not as smart as I thought you were. And to cite the self-serving US/NASA history as definitive proof of anything is really naive. I like the US government, and I trust it as much as any American can trust our government ... usually ... and I'm not convinced that there's a US gov't conspiracy to hide the existence of UFOsand aliens or that we've been secretly colluding with aliens in exchange for advanced technology (though who knows, really?), but come on!
