Prevention Magazine is a slightly nutty 'health' publication. Not particulary trustworthy about anything related to nutrition, disease, medication or.... well, pretty much anything. Its parent "Organic Gardening' has pretty good gardening advice, but the same sort of 'I think I saw it on the internet, so it must be true.' dizziness.

Or you can use Knox gelatin and substitute any juice for the cold water. Jellied 'salads' can be pretty good, but don't neglect to add spices or herbs. Most of the 50s recipes are very bland. One of the best kiddie desserts I know is making Knox Gelatin with apple juice and doubling the amount of gelatin used. You get something very like gummi bears but with actual nutrition. Apple juice is naturally very sweet so no sugar needs to be added.

Here in Canada, there is an urban legend that New Coke was actually the Canadian formula. (Yes, Coca-Cola has different formulas in different countries-- more sugar, less sugar, corn syrup, beet sugar, cane sugar, etc.) So when New Coke arrived, all the Canadian bottlers had to do was change the packaging. And people hated the 'new' Coke. So Coca-Cola Canada went back to the old packaging and everybody was happy again. We also like Tim Horton's coffee, so there's that.

Sounds like an eBay reseller. Buy out of stock merchandise in bulk at a discount locally, offer it world wide at full price. The economists call this "arbitrage".

For all the talk about hygiene, this was actually a (very bad) method of birth control. Very bad because: it didn't work and it could burn you badly.

TL:DR -- Expensive car has design fault. Same fault on new model.

Wasn't the elderly gentleman an adult? Did you ask him what he wanted to do?

It's a piece of ginger root. Ginger is used for gastric disturbances, including, I suppose, flatulence and possibly for upset stomach from food poisoning. I've never heard of it being used for hives, ringworm or eczema, but those all make the skin break out, so ginger may be used by some cultures as a medicine for skin problems. Perhaps the writer was trying to say it has antibacterial and fungicidal uses. How's your Thai?
