You're right, it's not a complete package. But, it must be a strong package. I feel pretty lucky to have co-founded Izeni with my brother who is technical *and* complements my skill set. It doesn't hurt that we both like the same music and foods. That makes the late night coding sessions more bearable ;)
Sorry about the loss. He seems to have had good taste in music, food and friends. That makes a short life a full one. Take care.

It seems that people do dumb things when pitching because they fear they'll only get one chance to nail it. Naturally, they have to do something to grab your attention. Sure, in doing so, they ensure that it's the only chance they'll get :) So, I agree. It's about trust. But, can you really build a relationship of trust in a 20 min. meeting? If I understand you, you're saying let the deal do the talking and then the relationship of trust will/might follow. Is that how you see it? It's interesting that trust is so key and there really is so little to base it on (or so it seems).

The problem with guessing Oracle's motivation is the wide array of technologies that Sun has. Sweet Hardware Solaris/OpenSolaris Java OpenOffice MySQL VirtualBox ZFS etc.. I kind wonder if Oracle even knows what the next 2 years will bring. One thing is sure, with the MySQL community totally disoriented, it's never been a better time to be a PostgreSQL user :) Regards, Gabe
