Hmmmm...i HAVE always been partial to "Mirabelle". Don't know why that particular print appeals to me!
Miss Maggie Rabbit
***UPDATE, 3/1/13 at 6:53 p.m.: I am so sorry but the kits have just sold out. I know people are going to be really disappointed and I sincerely apologize. They went faster than I ever anticipated and I just really apologize if you didn't get to order one. We will be making more but not in time ...
My mom used to wear Lanz nightgowns as party dresses in the 60's and 70's. Like this one:

Some girls did that with the original Laura Ashley slips, petticoats and nightdresses, too.
Crumbs!
You won't have to follow a trail of crumbs to get your own wacked-out Hansel and Gretel Lanz of Salzburg dress, like, say, THIS ONE: Here's a closeup of the Hansel-y, Gretel-y part: You can find this dress on eBay, if you want to commemorate child-endangerment and near-cannibalism. Have fun...
@ Steffani RE: "Ahhh '80s Victorian revival! This is so much like the styles little Victorian/Edwardian era girls wore...Ann of Green Gables would be in heaven! But why oh why would a grown woman wear anything like this? Blech."
At least one other grown woman did: http://www.altfg.com/Stars/w/what-ever-happened-to-baby-jane-bette-davis-1.jpg
Submitted for Your Disapproval
From NancyKay, who forwarded this to me with the subject line "possibly the worst dress ever photographed": The sad thing is that in 1980-whatever, I might have actually wanted to wear this, sans puffy sleeves. Readers: Can This Dress Be Saved?
Very, very pretty. I love soft aqua shades. Can't wait to see which Liberty print you picked out for it, too.
Vogue 8728: True Love
I posted about Vogue 8728 a couple of weeks ago: And since then I've actually made it up. (Twice, but I only have one photographed.) Here's a better view of the bodice: And the neck binding/gathers: And the zipper (not the best job I've ever done, but serviceable): And the back vie...
Blonde may also be giving Brunette tips on how to walk a straight line.
It could be an office party.
Today's Pattern Story: Vogue 9747
All the action here is with Pink Dress Lady. What the heck is that in her hand? Camera? Lorgnette? Laser sight? Smoked glass for viewing an eclipse? I just don't know. Obviously, Blue and Black are sisters, with Black being the hard-charging executive running the business Daddy left them, and ...
Cookie here!
Could she be peering through a highball glass? (I think it's her second.)
The lampshade-on-the-head bit will happen next.

Sorry...meant to say all three are by Behr....which makes me think of asprins.
Paint Picks
There is wainscoting on the long wall of the bedroom now, which is so very nice. It is primed but not yet painted; when I paint it it will be a milky, glossy white, like all of the trim in our house. I'm picking a new paint color for the wall above the wainscoat and the rest of the walls. I am...
My favorite white for trim is called "Pot of Cream" (thank god it's not called "Pot O Cream", or I'd see the Lucky Charmz leprechaun hopping about), and it goes well with their wall color "Innocence", which is a yellower cream that looks very restful with it. They also make a beautiful pale green that isn't cloying, called "Relaxing Green".

Re: "So the question is why is this particular case so bothersome to them?"
Mmm, perhaps because the restriction or removal of a minorities' civil rights for no discernable purpose is viewed as abhorrent by enlightened people?
King & Spalding Offers New Details on Marriage Mess
The head of King & Spalding's Washington office is accepting blame for what he calls the "misunderstanding" that led the firm last month to accept, and then drop, the U.S. House of Representatives as a client in same-sex marriage litigation. The statement by J. Sedwick "Wick" Sollers comes in a s...
I can't figure out if Agent Daffodil is wearing a scarf, or 10 strands of pearls. This dress should look better than it does. The "accent" of the bold belt is kind of abrupt, and I hate those stiff fabrics that stand up on their own. But I like where the dress is GOING... Today's Pattern Story (and Sale): Vogue 2051
The wireless lapel mike had a short in it, so Agent Gladiolus always had to hold it at an unnatural angle to make her report. Good thing Agent Daffodil's hair served as a makeshift antenna. You can find this pattern here, along with some grab-bag offers ...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HOLLY!
Everyone needs at least one dress like this! Sarah has to post a link to a party pic after the holidays : )

Happy Birthday, Holly!
Yesterday was Holly's birthday, and as a present she's giving us all a sale: You have GOT to click on the link to see all the pictures of this stunner. Silk chiffon! Halter-neck! There has GOT to be some alternate universe where I wear this dress every day, right? If that universe, for you...
