My husband does all of our meal planning, shopping & cooking & I love seeing a man's baking efforts highlighted here. That cake has me drooling & book marking this recipe!
SUNDAY'S CAKE
today's cake was a blueberry cornmeal butter cake from the smitten kitchen cookbook . it was pretty good. a definite change of pace from the ultra sweet cakes that normally come to life in our kitchen. this one has a streusel topping, my favorite, and is kind of a cross between coffee cake...
I am so very sorry for your loss ..
one last dance
I was at the show (which was totally fabulous) ant must say I was really interested in that Voltaic Converter Solar Backpack, not having to spend my time searching for juice sources for my devices would belike a dream come true for me!
Thanks for this wonderful review of a great show!
Technology Meets Fashion at CES
There is no doubt that the Consumer Electronics Show is the premiere place to see and be seen if you are a gadget
my god, that is the most beautiful picture I've seen in days! You are soo talented!
A Day Off
I'm taking a day off. I did want to let you know, however, Mocha is doing really well and improving every day. Yay! The last two days were beautiful here, but now we're expecting more rain. I hope you're enjoying your weekend! © Twenty Four At Heart
oh my God, I love you seriously but I have to admit to being totally green with envy here! Your description of your tub room time sounds like heaven and the Nap room? you went to a place that has a nap room? that's it, I 'm hooked :)
Celebrity Treatment, Part I
I had the most amazing experience last Friday. I was recently contacted by a public relations firm here in Orange County. That, in itself, is not unusual. This particular email, however, caught my attention. First of all, the person contacting me had done her research. (Which, by the way, alw...
I'm the Shoppinqueen, thank you for including me on this list! I've had 23 yrs of being told to shut up, I'm not shutting down now!
I'm going to go thru, read, comment on the posts here over the next few days. I'd do it tonight but 5:30am comes really early& I want to be fully awake& present as I read important posts.
Why I Won't Be Shutting Down on November 1
I have two lists going in this post: "Autistics Speaking Day" -- posts written by people with autism; and "Autism Shout Out" -- posts written by people who do not have autism but love and/or support people with autism. If I've missed a link or otherwise erred: (best)-- leave a comment; email l...

Getting "Tucked"
Last night I crawled into bed completely stressed out and frustrated that the job offer I've been freaking out about for weeks seemed no closer than it had the day I had my interview. I couldn't sleep. I thought about grabbing Carmen but my husband had come to bed at the same time I had and I ...
Problem is people are human, who do you know that does things with totally altruistic motives 100% of the time?As far as douches go,I'd say just try to pick folks who's core values most closely match your own, Social media pro X might be an insufferable attention whore at times but if he constantly champions causes I consider important, it might well be worth to me to feed his need for ego strokes.
Should you support douching?
Tweet Does the ends justify the means? That was the question that Jay Baer, Julien Smith and I were chatting about last week over a very, very fine meal at Galatoire's Restaurant here in New Orleans. Thanks to Carrie Devries for making that happen BTW. Anyhow, the basic point of discussion wa...
My current addiction is Youtube, I've also got a folder full of sites I've bookmarked to visit on #socialsat
Time Suck
Marcus and I are going through a breathtakingly mature phase that involves us sitting on our couch eating cookies and watching Autotune the News on Youtube for at least an hour each night after Dean goes to bed. (If you're going to hit that link, be sure you scroll down and watch their "Bed Intr...
You are such a lovely, warm, funny woman, wasn't the meal with @taverndirect amazing?
BlogHer '10: The Parties and Swag
Ok. Before I begin, let's me preface this post with I KNOW. It's not about the swag. Believe me, I know. That's why the post about the people, the proverbial wind beneath my BlogHer wings, was first. But when I can get a few nice things for my son? Swag can be pretty sweet. Also, when you're...
ROTFLMAO great pictures!
When a PC becomes a Mac
'Scuse me for a moment while I slay you with my highly technical rundown of the Kafka-esque metamorphosis when a born and bred PC-usin' gal switches/gets fickle/becomes a traitor/makes The Move/wises up/howeverthefuckyouwantoputit and becomes a Mac user, a lot of things happen. She can't find h...
Your son is a little rock star, such a cutie:)
My little hot mess
I've already established on this here blog that I am pretty much the world's perfect parent. Obviously. I mean, just look at all those Mother of the Year trophies collecting dust in the curio cabinet. *shifty eyes* But I'll let you in on one little flaw of mine that's been weighing heavily on m...
Nice post, I'm just focusing on gratitude, a weekend away at a nice hotel in NYC with lots of other folks who share similar passions and I don't have to cook or wash dishes, it works for me:)
