Hi, Melissa! I totally agreed with what you were saying that art can't be art unless someone is emotionally moved by what is being presented. I think anytime I look at a piece of art or something such as a tattoo, I can "feel" what is being said, even if it is without words.

When I (and this is speaking from my personal outlook) look at a piece of art, I have to first utilize my 5 senses. I think about what kind of emotions are aroused and how the colors and historical background affect my own way of life. But by all means, what the piece of art looks like comes first before I can even relay a meaning to what is being displayed. In contrast to that, when I am creating a art form, the process is backwards. I believe that an artist has to think emotionally before they can express art, putting a meaning to what they want to create.
