I've perused this pathetic excuse for what claims to be a representation of Ayn Rand's philosophical beliefs, and can state with absolutely NO equivocation-Ayn Rand would have categorically rejected being associated in ANY WAY with the people who run this blog, and with the opinions it expounds. There are so many grievous contradictions from Objectivist dogma here that it would take a large book (I'm highly doubtful that the site's authors have read A.S.) to enumerate them, but I will state a few of the most obvious. Ayn Rand was an atheist who postulated that the highest moral order was that created by the fully self realized man here on earth, and that a belief in any form of religion was an indicator of irrationality and intellectual frailty. A glaring example of this is provided by the phobic obsession with Islam exhibited by this site's authors. Though I'm quite sure she would have fundamentally disagreed with the Obama administration's economic policies, she would have considered speculation on his religious background (Christian, for all you foil helmet types), or even his place of birth (Hawaii, for the same Alcoa-clad pack of cretins) profoundly unreasoned and metaphysically irrelevant to his suitability, legitimacy or capacity to perform his duties as President of the United States, and arguments to the contrary as pedantic and specious calumnies. I see there are many statements and links to sites in support of anti-immigration and nativist positions. Ms. Rand would have been diametrically opposed to these sentiments, and would have been an ardent advocate for totally unrestricted immigration policies that rely almost solely on the market demands for employment to regulate the movement of people across borders. The writing here is rife with misspellings, typos, and cringingly juvenile exhortations that epitomize the sort of cognitive deficit which is elementally antithetical to the stringent epistemological paradigm championed by Ayn Rand. Her estate should sue for character defamation. There is so much more to be critical of, but deafness is one of the characteristics of a wooden head.

Completely OT, but my initial impression of the new intro announcer and bumper music on Monica's show is not positive.

Hey J Pierpointless, did you notice that your partner in cretinism Charlie totally agrees with Media Matters reporting that Rush WAS in FACT referring to soldiers who do NOT support the "war" in Iraq. You guys need to get your story straight. Actually it appears that if Charlie had his way, the United States would become a totalitarian fascist dictatorship where any who dissent from the party line were executed. You both should move to Russia-Putin would be happy to accomodate a couple of good, mindless apparatchiks like yourselves. China or North Korea would probably work well for you guys too.

J. Pierpont-The quote of Rush I used is unedited and came directly from his website. I listen to the bloviating gasbag every day (old Sicilian saying: Keep your friends close and your enemies closer) and my memory is obviously much better than yours because I know EXACTLY what he said, and EXACTLY what the context was...don't fret though, I understand why you would rather avoid the substance of what Rush said-the evidence is too damning and you'd rather remain comfortably numb. Nevertheless, we are listening, so you won't be able to hide any more.

And the idea that Rush is a patriot is ludicrous-He used the pathetic excuse of anal cysts after he was drafted to worm his way out of military service, but has spent the rest of his life ensconced on his cankerous, corpulent posterior.

Need further proof? Answer this: Why did Rush spend almost every minute of every show since he made the comment "defending" himself? He NEVER spends more than a few minutes talking about what others have said about his commentary. Not even during the Michael J. Fox/Stem Cell controversy did he discuss it for more than one segment per show. He KNOWS he stepped in it, and is desperately trying to scrape his shoe clean.

RUSH ARCHIVE: It's not possible intellectually to follow these people. CALLER: No, it's not. And what's really funny is they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout to the media. RUSH: The phony soldiers. CALLER: The phony soldiers. If you talk to any real soldier and they're proud to serve, they want to be over in Iraq, they understand their sacrifice and they're willing to sacrifice for the country. RUSH: They joined to be in Iraq. The only thing more shrunken than your brain is your nut sack, because you are obviously too chickensh*t to follow the link I provided. You have only two choices here; either explain exactly how Rush was referring specifically to Jesse Macbeth and NOT Votevets, or you'll be admitting you're a moron. Don't forget, David slew Goliath, and all it takes is a thorn to cripple a lion...looks like Rush is stuck in a briar patch.

Sorry J. Pierpont, Rush is dissembling through his stogie in that youtube dittocam excerpt-You OBVIOUSLY did NOT read the Media Matters page which irrefutably details point by point EXACTLY what Rush meant by his comment. The can't handle the truth.

I know it's a thankless task Jack (I've seen the relentless ad hominem attacks you've endured from others here), but the defense of truth demands our duty. And the surety many of the cons affect is only a front. Though some truly suffer from total cognitive disconnect, more often I see their presumption of infallibility and unwillingness to cede any error as a form of adolescent antagonism, and not coincidentally that is Rush's stock in trade. Which explains his success.

During the September 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh characterized service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq as "phony soldiers." Limbaugh said to a caller that "[t]here's a lot" that people who favor U.S. withdrawal from Iraq "don't understand" and that when asked why the United States should pull out, their only answer is, " 'Well, we just gotta bring the troops home.' ... 'Save the -- keep the troops safe' or whatever," adding, "[I]t's not possible, intellectually, to follow these people." Limbaugh's caller replied, "No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media." Limbaugh interjected, "The phony soldiers." (note the plural, "soldiers". Rush was NOT refering to the individual Jesse Macbeth) The caller, who had earlier said, "I am a serving American military, in the Army," agreed, replying, "The phony soldiers." I love the histrionic panic as the fruit loop rabid right wing is coming to the realization that they no longer have the cozy confines of the talk radio echo chamber that bolsters their delusional beliefs to themselves any more. The top has been torn off the 55 gallon drum, the cat is loose, and the rabbit is on the run; they won't be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together and the sunlight of reality is causing a run on welding goggles. Since the vast majority of you are sackless eunichs, you won't be able to follow this link: because it will dash to an infinitely fine dust the last remnants of your meticulously constructed alternate universe. Click only if you think you've got the minerals.

Traitor?... Petraeus’s superior, Admiral William Fallon, chief of the Central Command (CENTCOM), derided Petraeus as a sycophant during their first meeting in Baghdad last March, said Pentagon sources familiar with reports of the meeting. Fallon told Petraeus that he considered him to be “an a55-kissing little chickensh*t” and added, “I hate people like that”.
Albany Chuck, I find it strange that you were unable to understand exactly what Sen. Thompson was saying about his personal view on abortion, considering it was right there in your pull quote. So to clarify: "And I WOULD NOT BE AND NEVER HAVE BEEN for a law that says, on the state level, if I were back in Tennessee voting on this, for example, that if they chose to criminalize a young woman"

During an interview with Sean Hannity a few months ago, Fred Thomson re-asserted his personal belief that abortion should NOT be criminalized. Though he stated his opposition to Roe v.Wade (parsed under the context of states rights, i.e. a Constitutional issue), at the end of this excerpt, Senator Thompson said he would NOT be in favor of criminalizing the abortion procedure. (the following is from the 6/5/7 Hannity and Colmes show transcript) <> here's the link:,3566,278554,00.html It's not clear in the transcript, but if you watch the interview, it appears that Hannity realized what he was about to say, and cut him off before Sen. Thompson could finish.

Monica, whether your ignorance is willfull or not is a rhetorical question, the answer wouldn't matter to you anyway-you have ZERO respect for the TRUTH. It may be a concept beyond your comprehension. FACT. House Speaker Newt Gingrich traveled to Bosnia amid widespread Republican opposition to Clinton administration policy there. I didn't hear any of you repukes whining about treason then. FACT. Nancy Pelosi was briefed by the State Dept. before the trip, and the Democratic contingent was acompanied by a nearly equal number of Republican representatives. Now here is a traitor for you- clownservatives make me laugh.....guess they have a tiny fraction of redeeming value after all.
Monica, you seem to have what is either a woeful or willful ignorance of the deep and possibly intractable religious divisions that have become the overwhelmingly predominant dynamic in the Civil war now raging in Iraq. Especially for someone who was correctly (and somewhat derisively) critical of incoming Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Silvestre Reyes for not knowing the difference between a Shi'ite or Sunni Muslim. It was NOT, as you ludicrously assert, the media coverage that is causing further violence in Iraq following the thoroughly botched execution of Saddam Hussein, it is the sad fact that the Iraqi "government" is controlled primarily by factions who do not pledge their allegiance to an Iraqi Republic, but instead vow fealty to the radical Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr. Al-Sadr is closely allied with Iran, as is Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, who lived in Syria and Iran for 22 years prior to his return to Iraq after Hussein was deposed, and who is the deputy leader of the Islamic Dawa Party, a terrorist organization. The criticism of how the execution was handled is quite valid, considering that the black masked men who carried it out were clearly heard chanting "Muqtada, Muqtada" on the unauthorized cell phone video. Tell me Monica, exactly how in control is a government that is unable to prevent imagery of the execution to be recorded and disseminated? Or perhaps that is precisely what was intended, knowing full well how inflammatory it would be. Most unfortunately, far from being an example of Justice, the rushed and badly managed execution was a stark and ominous symbol of sectarian vengeance, and a harbinger of the ensuing violence and chaos which has become endemic of Iraq. The only thing the news media is guilty of here is reporting the facts; it borders on the delusional to believe otherwise, and shooting (or hanging) the messenger will not change them.
