Every kid loves to be the only child occasionally. Lillian has a kind of only child existence right now, with one gone and the other mostly gone. It's the three of us most nights.

I'm enjoying this new style you've brought to the stations. If I was still the pastor of CBC, you KNOW I'd be begging you to let me put them in the order of worship.

Is that a color? How about a picture?

I've wondered what would be next for you. What's the situation for women rabbis these days?

Yes. The thrill of having children has never left me. I'm still thrilled by my daughters, and one of them is 21. So too the gift of being independent is now sacred and special to you. You'll never take that for granted again. Jeanene and I will be in a restaurant and a baby will start crying. We'll look at each other and sigh with contentment. "Not ours!"

Funny, the Cheeze Whiz is the thing I noticed as well. Nice. Why did Cheese Whiz get such a bad name? It's perfect for road trips.

Utopia is absolutely my favorite thing about Covenant right now. Just absolutely my favorite thing. I think to myself, "If I've had anything to do with a church that could make room for and bless such a spontaneous act of love and coolness, then the 20 years would be worth it for that alone! sigh

Ah, there will be so many more of these crests. Like roller coasters, there are hills and valleys all the way. You are in for some ride!! Call me next time you're in SA. I'd love to meet Drew.

The labyrinth guild has managed to keep your creation, despite all of God's little servants who are doing their best to clean it up. As I see it, as long as we are using it, our work is good, even the work of thwarting our little brothers and sisters who are working their various automated scripts. The Armadillos to turn over the rocks, the pioneer weeds to dart into every open space and grab the earth and hold it, and the other plants who would quickly follow them if we allowed it. Their job is always good since they can only work their automated scripts. And the day we stop using it, their work is what will return the land to its native state, thanks be to God.

Rachel, this is absolutely stunning. Beautiful, deeply thought and felt. The essence of great poetry.
