Last week I received a bonus disc for the 1st time. I live in Oklahoma City, and the bonus disc was shipped from San Antonio. It was a pleasant surprise as I had not heard of the bonus disc program before. I am also wondering if Netflix has closed the Oklahoma City Distribution Center recently, as for about the past month or so, all of my Discs have been coming out of Wichita, KS. Is anyone aware of any Distribution Center closings?
I signed up for the 3-out SuperPass last year, and was I glad when the year was up. Seems that most of the movies, even older movies from the 60's and 70's were always in "High Demand", as they termed it, and were never available. Other movies were all shipped from the bottom of the queue, nver the top. My #1 selection was at the top for the whole year and was never shipped. Received way too many discs that were broken or badly scratched. And yes, each disc came from independent video stores from all across the country. So Intelliflix does not have their own distribution centers that I am aware of, only a network of independent video retailers. ByPass the SuperPass. Cause 9 out of 10 times, your top selections will get bypassed!
I have a Mac with Safari, Firefox and Camino (Mozilla's Mac version of Firefox). BB's new website seems to work okay with Sarari, albeit very slow. With Firefox and Camino, I get the script errors when accessing my queue. I have IE, but refuse to use it. Won't even use it on my PC at work. So I guess I would have to say the BB must have developed the website to be compatible with the main browsers for Microsoft and Apple, cutting Mozilla's products out of the picture. Blockbuster needs to get with it to make all customers happy. And quite frankly...I do not like their new website. Too Many bugs!
I do believe the last two posts are getting off of the path of what this subject is about. What has Al Gore's documentary got to do with BB's Guaranteed in stock program? Is global warming keeping more people inside staying cool and watching rented DVD's, hence the discussion of out-of-stock "Guaranteed In-Stock" titles? Is this the point Al Gore is trying to make?
One recent flash ad for a movie would even cover the link to my queue at the top of the page. It was small and you could see all the links at the top of the page when it loaded, but when the cursor got close to the Queue link, the ad would expand, blocking all of the links. I had to scroll to the bottom of the page to click the link there. That was very irritating. Almost made me want to cancel NF.
I'm wondering how some other services such as Intelliflix stay in business. 9 out of every ten movies I click on to add to my queue are in "High Demand" and are added to my 30+Day queue (of which I have never received any of those titles, even after being a member for a year). I have had a number of titles in the regular queue for up to a year that nver got shipped. Therefore, I have cancelled my membership effective the end of my current subscription. Sorry Intelliflix, you just did not work out for me. I hope you can stay in business, but I don' see how!

If I can't burn it to DVD, I certainly will not pay that kind of money for the movies!
Have you noticed that TV shows downloaded to iTunes cannot be burned to DVD? I tried a couple, but will not purchase any more. Don't care to watch programs or movies on my computer.
Don't waste your money on Intellifix! I paid for a year's subscription up front, and have a lot of trouble getting titles sent to me. I am on the three out plan with them. All of the titles I have are older movies from the 40's 50's 60's and 70's, and they have a problem shipping them. And for get about new releases. They do not even show up to save to the Queue until after the movie is released. They received the last two movies I sent back to them on 6-16, and so far, they have not shipped out the next two titles in the queue. Plus the Queue is a joke. They never ship out in order I have them. The first three titles in my Queue have been there since 4-9. Most of the titles I get have always come from the lower half. Wonder if I would have better luck if I reversed the order! I am going to serve out the remaining time I have with them, then get rid of them!
I would do the samething as junebug1701 - mail movies back on Friday or Saturday for NF to receive on Monday (I have a local NF distribution center in town) and new releases were sent out on Monday or Tuesday. Then it started stopping - My Fri-Sat mailings were not showing up as "received" until Tuesday or Wednesday, in which case, new releases were already on short to long wait. This is what throttling is all about. I have also had BB for about 8 months now. I do not have this problem nor have I ever had this problem with BB. I am getting all my new releases from them, if not the same day released, then within a few days. I had a 5 out plan with NF and a 3 out with BB. I have switched that. I have about 10 more movies in my queue that I cannot get from BB. After I recieve them, NF is history. They are losing a customer of 3 years when I cancel. Too bad they treat their older members that way!
I have been getting throttled a lot lately, including slowing down when movies are shipped out after they received the prevous ones. So I have cleaned out my queue, leaving in only new releases that are available now and upcoming over the next few weeks. I will continue to add 3 new releases each week as they become available. I am curious to see how NF handles that, since they have not been sending me any new releases over the past few weeks, even though they would recieve previous returns on Monday. In other words, I am ready to cancel if they do not follow through on sending me movies in a timely manner.!
