I Won!!!
Ok. It was just a simple contest that anyone could have won; but, the laws of numbers fell my way and somehow I managed to win. I can’t tell you how excited I am to win something. What I won doesn’t hold any real monetary value or anything but just the simple fact I won anything is just too great of emotion not to share. Luck and chances have everything to do with it. It’s such a nice reprieve from the ordinary when something falls into your lap and you were only barely trying. Hopefully by sharing my excitement, the... Continue reading

Getting Old...
I don’t mean to sound snippy but too many people complain about it. It’s unavoidable, unchangeable and just a fact that you have to accept. It’s too exhausting to think about the things I can’t change. It’s just another one of those things that you have to ride the tide on. You live it and perform it to the best of your abilities. I’ve heard you are supposed to do this aging thing gracefully. As far I can tell, and I don’t pretend to have lived any longer or more than most, there is nothing graceful about it. It’s always... Lose your Sense of Value
What was I thinking? I had a job interview today. It's freezing cold out. I was offered a warm drink before and after the interview and twice I turned it down. I wanted that warm drink of tea and twice I turned it down. It was cold out. I needed that warm cup of tea to defrost and twice I turned it down. Really, what was I thinking? As I drudged through the cold with my ears burning with the crisp sensation of frostbite I pondered the root, source, origin of this error. To get straight to the point and... Continue reading

Too much time
Something I continually rediscover is when you have a lot of time on your hands you can get lazy with just about everything. Have enough time and it can lead to disinterest in just about everything. Things that would ordinarily appeal to you like going to the movies, out for a walk or even just getting together with friends no longer motivate you. The spiral continues to lead downward from here potentially bringing depression and more importantly the lack of growth. This is the time when I like to turn up the heat. Look at the extra time as an... Continue reading

Surrender
My life is in complete chaos for the moment. Maybe chaos is an inappropriate term for it, it's more of at a standstill and I am in a frenzy trying to give it a kick in the pants. Networking, sending out resumes, working on some challenging health and personal goals consume my time. The pitch is feverish and I can feel the heavy burden of anticipation as I wait for something to break. Despite all of this my mood is "chipper". Why? I have surrendered to life’s rhythm. You can do everything right, plan for every detail and attempt to... Continue reading

I really can't stop thinking about the spiritual aspect of this Avatar movie. I realize that many people have been talking about the story, effects, and the environmental issues that this movie addresses. While I love and agree with everyone of these incredible things, for me it's the spiritual aspect of the movie that has really affected me. It has reinforced the values of being connected in the world at a much deeper level. "I see you." Was such a prolific simple line that really means so much. I think about the simple things in life I ignore and the... Continue reading

I hope in the end, that people just find some inspiration from this story and at the very least develop a new sense of awarness or connectiveness to the world in which we live.
AVATAR's Eco-Political Message
There's no denying that Avatar has something to say about Earth-like environmental conflicts, especially since director James Cameron is the one saying so. Sure, he wanted movie that celebrated nature, but Cameron and crew actually visited a Hawaiian clear-cutting operation in progress just to...
