Hi Mimi and other friends,
The bag is by Orla Kiely http://www.orlakiely.com/
I'm not sure if she makes that particular stem print anymore but probably something close to it.
best,

We used to frequent the drycleaners quite a bit especially for the boy's work shirts. Now that I am not working full-time outside of the home and the boy has since switched to wash-and-wear suit shirts we make less trips to the cleaners and environmentally I think it's proabably best. I still ...
blessing and peace to you.

I am typing this out on my phone, so sorry in advance for any typos. I contemplated not posting anything and just taking the blog down but decided I needed to at least say something as I have a lot of online scrapbooking friends who have been very loyal to me over the years. I had to at least say...
I also fell in love with that chair, but then I waited to long to snag it. I think our Philly store is out of them. I had wanted a pair for our living room. They were a really nice scale, not so huge like the furniture from other stores is.
wings for napping
I popped in to West Elm over the weekend and fell in love with this chair. The Ellery chair seems to no longer be available online but they do have it in store. It is lowish so comfy for more petite folks and has a classic wing shape. We were teasing that the wings are at the perfect height to m...
No way. LOL. It's much smaller than that, 19 or 22 (not sure what the standard size is).
welcome february (and my 3rd love)
I love the snow. I really do. But I am done with winter. So. Done. Thanks Bethany for the cute wallpaper! And my 3rd love, that would be my Kindle. I somehow can never read one book at a time and having a Kindle just exacerbates that 'problem', but I love it. I especially enjoy that I ca...
Definitely, Candie! There are some great examples of that around the internet.
chalkboard door of my very own
I forgot to show you this! After my mini-obsession with chalkboard paint, I finally used it at our house on the closet door in my studio. I doubt I will ever actually draw or write on the door with chalk. I just love the matte blackness of it! I am planning on painting the front of our pan...
around $70 I believe, depending on where you buy them.
dansko : is it spring yet?
So I can buy and wear these shoes. from Dansko's new Sanibel Collection, called Volley They are vegan. as see in Whole Living buy here (Philly people) Did you know? Dansko's Office and Retail Center is in West Grove, PA. It was designed by a firm I used to work for.
Yea, Janice. That's what attracted me to the book, learning to live with less instead of just trying to figure out ways to organize it all.

I'm the same. Reference, cookbooks, architecture/interior design books I'll still buy the actual books. Yes, it's really enabling my ADD when it comes to reading books, MANY at one time!

Stacey, It's basically about removing things from your home/life that don't matter to make rooms for the things that do. Here's the link to it on amazon: http://tinyurl.com/5wrhfpb

So far I like it but I'm a couple of chapters in. When I get a bit further I'll give you more thoughts!

We have an unusually large bedroom considering the smallish cape cod house that we live in so we actually need the king size bed to fill up the room a bit. I miss our queen bed though. Now we have to make more of an effort to cuddle in the king. I love the dressing table. It is great to have an area away from the bathroom like that.
Monday Memorandum - a bit of rearranging
We did something kind of crazy this weekend; we sold our king size bed in order to bring in a full size mattress. I know. What the heck are we thinking, right? Well, believe it or not there are several reasons for this decision. Not only was it just so darn big for this tiny 10x12' room, b...

Liz, Do you mean who the manufacturer is? It's Farrow and Ball and here's the link directly to the room above that tells you what each of the paint colors is: http://tinyurl.com/68o69a9

book giveaway
I am giving away a book from my own library. It's used, of course, since I read it! but is like new and instead of sending it to Goodwill or selling it to some random person, if anyone is interested I will send it to one of you instead. See book description and reviews here. If you are intere...
It really does. To the point that I actually feel dizzy when I am there sometimes. My head just spins with crazy ideas.
burlap
We covered the base of our Christmas tree in burlap (I purchased a roll of it from Terrain) and now I have a thing for burlap. It's so utilitarian - like those old grain sacks - yet so pretty used in a new way. I stumbled upon these burlap buckets. These would be great all over the house. ...
I'm always surprised that so many glasses have them. But I wonder if it has something to do with the way the glasses are made. I know nothing about glassmaking or glassblowing.
thirsty : Pokal tumblers
We have a these glasses and as they have broken I haven't been replacing them. They have these giant 'dimples' on the bottom that collect a ridiculous amount of water in the dishwasher and I have been on the hunt for new tumblers (w/o dimples). I love these from Ikea and how much more affordab...
re: juice glasses...a great thing to keep in mind. Right now we are still all about bottles and sippy cups. ;)

Yes they are! I am SO thankful that all of our parents live in the area. It does make life a bit easier sometimes.
dad project no. 1
There is seriously nothing better than a retired parent(s). My dad retired a couple of years ago and in between breaking up old concrete in his basement, caring for Kheri a few hours each week and reading the paper while sipping coffee at Panera Bread he made this wonderful coat rack for us. ...
I certainly can't say it was original but we like how our interpretation came out!
dad project no. 2
We have one large wall in our 'TV room'. I didn't want to hang artwork or pictures on it but wanted something to hang there to break up the wall and possibly reflect the light from the windows on the opposite wall. I looked around at mirrors but I never found anything I liked (or that was lo...
Yes! It kind of makes you want to ditch any ideas of having an all white interior.
