Her response is what surprised me, not your son's curiosity. I love some of the suggestions above. With my girls, I lean more towards the 'people come in different sizes' than preaching fat-phobia. I control their food choices and activity opportunities and for now that is enough. What a sticky situation for you though!

Well I guess that tops the mom who brought pull-ups in the 'diaper' bag and then had her daughter change from undies to pull-up to pee and then back to undies. Ewww in either case!

It still sounds a bit off to me. Either address it parent to parent or kid to kid, but her speaking for her daughter and then expecting your son to speak for himself is kind of a power trip, no? I guess I'm more for addressing the issue in the moment or letting it go.

But the trains still run whether you are on them or not, no? Don't see how your avoidance lessens the impact.

Happy day!! What a sweet video! My 1 year old is napping, the 2.75 yr old is building some sort of block castle thingamajig and I'm about to go do that. My new snap press just came in the mail and I'm about to start snapping anything and everything. ;-)
