I like to think of myself as an "animal person". At one point while I was younger, I had 10 pets (1 dog, 3 cats, 2 gerbils & 4 fish). When I moved from Toronto to Edmonton over 2 years ago, I had to leave my dog and cat with my mom.
I missed having a pet so much, until I stayed with one of my friends, who has a cat, for a couple weeks.NEVER AGAIN! I can't stand the fur everywhere, the smell and the damn thing jumping up on the dinning table and kitchen counters.
tamed by the purr of a jaguar
Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post. I had no idea so many new readers were visiting my blog; I'd just assumed that the Internet had gotten bored with me, moved on to whatever the new hotness is, and I was writing for the few, the proud, the geeky who had been here forever. Knowi...
I've been reading since, roughly, the beginning of the year. This is one of my favorite stories of yours. So funny.
Happy belated 4th Wil, and happy belated Canada Day to all of my fellow Canadians.
Because it's become a yearly tradition, here's a story about fireworks
I've written hundreds of thousands of words over the years, but this remains one of my all-time favorites, so I like to revisit it every year. It was originally written and published on July 5, 2002, which usually feels like years and days ago all at once, but this year actually feels like a lif...
Your post is testament to the fact that you need to spend more time in Canada. What's not to love? We have Eureka, Stargate, hockey, poutine Alex Trebek, William Shatner, Michael J. Fox, snow (if you're into that type of thing) and great beer.
Canada vous aime.
it's like winning the actor lottery
When we're on location for Eureka, Felicia Day is like my best friend and my younger sister, all at once. We give each other shit all day long, we hang out when we're not working, and we lean on each other when we have those days all artists have that make us question why we thought we could do ...
I second this sentiment!

Awesome article, Wil! Thanks so much for the link.
I have wanted to get into comics for quite some time now (I know, I'm totally missing out on a good thing!), but comic book stores make me feel mildly anxious. The fact that there is such a huge selection of comics, in addition to not knowing the back story has really put me off. But now I think I'm going to give Astonishing X-Men a shot. :)
It's Wednesday, so here's a post about comic books
When I was a kid, I was a DC Universe guy all the way, with rare forays into the Marvel Universe to read a few X-Men books, and the occasional Silver Surfer 100 page spectacular (remember those? I loved those oversized one shots in the 70s and 80s.) I realized last week, though, that the bulk of...

awww that's super sweet. It's really great that you have such awesome relationships with your kids. My father and I have, aside from genes, virtually nothing in common unfortunately.
in which a good person is kind
My son Ryan was home from college all week for Spring Break, and I kept expecting him to grab one of my logged-into-Twitter devices to tell the world how awesome I think he is. (I pretend to get all mad, but I secretly love it when he does this.) Today, he went back to school, and I went out to ...
Kobo store too, for us Canadians
HUNTER is in the Kindle Store for 99 cents
Project Kindle Store Get Books In has begun: I started with Hunter because it was already in .mobi format, and it's my most recent thing (it's still in pay-what-you-want-even-nothing format, incidentally.) Assuming the world doesn't implode around me, I'll get Sunken Treasure in the Kindle stor...
BTW, read Hunter yesterday and it rocked. A little bit disturbing, but totally in a good way. Looking forward to more, hopefully soon :)

LOL I love that you added the collating picture to your author's page; very writery.
