Oh... exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you. I just asked the Yijing the nature of my new work, and was given Dispersing - the picture of flood, flow, dissolution of all boundaries. It says this is a good time to cross great rivers. And then its Image, wind moving over water, is said to show the way the original temples were founded, with offerings. I really think this Hopi message is talking about the same thing - not least the part about being afraid and trying to hang onto the shore. Dispersing of all boundaries and barriers is all very nice in the abstract, but often very scary to live.
