Non-therapeutic female genital cutting on minors is already illegal in California, as well as under the federal Anti-FGM Act. The laws include genital nicking. The proposed law in SF would merely bring the city to a level of equal protection for boys in that city.
San Francisco circumcision ban
So let me ask this question: when this law goes into effect, when male circumcisions become illegal in San Fran, will female circumcisions (a much more debilitating procedure) remain legal? I have a feeling the answer to my question is yes. Hmmm. I wonder why?
This is off-topic, but I don't know where else to ask it. What do you think of the proposed Sirius-XM merger? Is there anything you'd look forward to receiving through Sirius? Anything you're worried about losing? Personally, I'm all for it. I love Sirius, but I really want MLB coverage.
I'm wondering because I don't have any particular affinity for stations on Sirius (other than the '80s station and Stern), but you and most XM subscribers seem more involved in stations. Also, I think it's an interesting question from a technology and media standpoint. You usually have insightful comments on both.

Last night, I drove Ryan home from martial arts class. We listened to The Who on Top Tracks for most of the way, and when we pulled into the driveway, he reached down to turn off my XM radio, which sits on the console in front of the gearshift (or whatever you call that thing on an automatic.). ...
