"Where is Duncan's girlfriend and her family? No one's heard from them in a week." Girlfriend spoke today. http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/health/Hospital-We-Made-Mistakes-Deeply-Sorry-279369492.html She says: ""On Thursday morning, Oct. 16, I received a phone call from an executive with Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital. The purpose of this call was to apologize to me for the death of my fiancée, Thomas Eric Duncan, and to express regret that the hospital was not able to save his life. This official said the hospital was "deeply sorry" for the way this tragedy played out. I am grateful to the hospital for this personal call. I am grateful to God that this leader reached out and took responsibility for the hospital's actions. Hearing this information will help me as I mourn Eric's death. Because of my faith in God and because of my belief in what the Bible teaches, it is my position that God is the judge of others and their actions, and vengeance is not mine to demand. God is the judge, and God will take care of me." Local talk radio has gone ballistic over Presby's apology. Everybody's pissed.

Ammending my comment re Nina Pham and reason for transfer. Nurses I talked to last night said the rumor is nurses at Pre;shy are threatening to walk out. CDC gives them new protocols hour to hour. It's a cluster.

Sue, praying for your daughter. I heard last night on the radio that ambulance calls are being diverted from Presby to Baylor and Medical City. I'm also hearing from various sources that Presby is a disaster and the repercussions will reach deep into Dallas community and economy. I attended the Ebola townhall meeting in Lakewood last night. Here's a link that gives access to video of the meeting. It's long. It seemed to me that most of the people attending the meeting were ICU and ER nurses and paramedics. http://www.wfaa.com/story/news/health/2014/10/14/ebola-facts-not-fear-town-hall-meeting/17266017/ I also heard last night from a nurse attending the meeting that Nina Pham would be transferred soon to another hospital. Not sure where or why.

There's an app for image/PDF? Gotta get that one. What's the name of the app?

Reposting Porch's comment from a previous thread. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I'm gobsmacked. "If you want to be absolutely freaked out, read this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/ebola/comments/2jbfui/user_involved_with_dallas_emergency_broke_that/cla8pji Commenters saying that: --because the hospital staff didn't immediately know Duncan had Ebola (and why would they), several nurses and a doctor examined him without protection prior to the diagnosis. --Several of these people are running fever now. --FBI has asked all the nurses to delete social media accounts. I think this just might possibly be why Obama canceled those fundraisers. Needless to say I'm just a tad bit more worried than I was a couple of days ago. Posted by: Porchlight | October 15, 2014 at 02:52 PM" Porch, folks in Dallas are worried. A local Dem county commissioner sent an email out to Lakewood residents (East Dallas neighborhood near White Rock Lake) titled "Ebola, Facts not Fear." I"m tempted to show up to ask about the five or six additional Ebola cases at Presby. Talk some facts. :) "Hello Friends! There will be a town hall meeting tonight at the Lakewood Theater 630-730 pm, hosted by John McCaa. This is a great opportunity to get some answers from the experts. Your questions will be answered by ABC News Chief health and medical editor Dr. Richard Besser and Dr. Todd Pollock, President of the Dallas Medical Society. Norma Scholz CHRP Team 8"

"You were right about the digital records. I heard on the radio this morning that the software did not display travel records for the doctors. It has now been fixed." I'm skeptical. We're still waiting for Presby to retrieve hubby's CT scan and report from the digital hole.

9/14. Mouse talk lured me from my cozy dark corner. :) Circuitous route getting home. Back to my corner . . . .
Ok, I'll admit it. I celebrated my birthday at Disney last week. Grandkids were so excited when hubby told them they HAD to go to WDW. No choice. Can't miss Granna's b-day, right? Parents . . . not so thrilled about kids missing school. But . . . kinda hard to put that cat back in the bag and Papa was fast to let it out. So, Granna and Papa and severn grandkids trek off to WDW. Got all our homework done, sitting on the balcony at Animal Kingdom about fifty feet away from five giraffes nibbling on trees. Doesn't get any better than that.
anonamom: "My money is on them using the Obamacare mandated electronic medical record" Yup. Presby is my go-to place for emergencies. It's one of the best ERs in Dallas. You get excellent, immediate care when you walk through the doors. Very proficient. [Baylor's ER is also excellent, but the wait is long and scary *grin*. No one notices when you walk through the doors. Can't see through the masses.] Presby however now has a screwed up digital records system because of Obamacare. My mom had a stroke in May and her medical info at the ER had errors. Hubby's recent CT scan and report "disappeared." So mucho problems at Presby.
I'm with you, Steph. I love Disney. I go several times a year with the grandkids, and it's always a joy. We discover something new and fun every time. BoE, before the 2009 monorail crash, families were allowed to ride in the cockpit. Just had to stand in line. Kids loved it. They also got a driver's "license" at the end of the "test" drive to show their friends back home. Very cool. Another thing I love about Disney is Shades of Green, the only AFRC in the continental US. Located on Disney property. Military families get wonderful discounts at WDW. I have never gone to WDW without meeting at least one military family staying at Shades of Green.
If you have a good travel agent, a Disney certified agent, you can eat well at Disney. Disney also accommodates special diets. But you need an agent to plan it for you.
Just got back yesterday from taking the grandkids to WDW. Stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and the kids loved it. Hate the new FastPass system with tiers. It's our second trip to use the magic bands and the system is working better. But you are definitely tracked. The new Seven Dwarf ride takes multiple pictures (almost undetectable in the daylight) and sends it to your photopass account immediately. Actually, all the ride pics go immediately to your account. Detects the magic band. Got a friend who works for WDW. She says if you're on Disney property, they can find you (assuming you're wearing the band). Can be good if a kids gets lost . . . . The Halloween parade is fabulous.
Local news last night reported that the man was transported to Presby via ambulance. The ambulance and paramedics are now "quarantined." Comical. Showed us arial views of the isolated vehicle. Showed us a picture of a house, earnestly assuring us the paramedics have promised to stay home for 21 days. Then they tell us they're not sure how many people were transported in the blighted vehicle before it was quarantined. Then we got to the how-come-Liberia-never-became-an-issue part of the show. Classic whorehouse dance a little sidestep routine. Officials claim they don't know the man's citizenship. They don't know if the man showed an ID. They don't know if the paramedics or ER personnel asked for an ID. Show closes with an emotional interview with the leader of the local Liberian society who pleads with the man's family members (whom she knows personally) and friends to get to a hospital ASAP.
Cross posting. Clarice's link from last night about Cardinal Burke is disturbing, particularly since Gus confirms the demotion. Anyone else have a take on what's going on? "Gus, looks like your friend Cardinal Burke has been demoted:http://chiesa.espresso.repubblica.it/articolo/1350870?eng=y Posted by: clarice | September 16, 2014 at 08:32 PM"
"She's bringing them good luck." Cathy, clear your calendar. You are now on the Shamrock list. Your attendance is now a Domer imperative. :)

Not sure if this has been posted. The Aggie McDonald's beating. http://www.americanthinker.com/2014/08/beaten_to_death_at_mcdonalds.html#.U_tRJPQMPfg.facebook
Marlene, my Maine friends who know Michaud personally tell me that Michaud is an extreme liberal, so he's just showing his true colors. We are considering the reopening of our facility in northern Maine, so Hubby and I will probably be making a few trips up there next year. I'm certain that snowmobiling will be worked in somewhere, perhaps a board meeting out on Long Lake or an officers meeting on the ITS 83. *grin*
Local news interrupted Rush just now to report that our Governor will be turning himself in for fingerprints and mug shot. In a just world, every news report of this event will give equal time to the "victim," playing the video again and again with a big ole fat label emblazoned across the shameless sot's face: DEMOCRAT. Not in this lifetime . . .
I have no idea who Cheap Trick is, but I am now a fan. Watching the BOY smile as he played with his favorite band was such a delight. Thanks for sharing, Gus. And what a beautiful memory it created for you and the BOY re your dad. Congratulations to Mrs. B! It takes mega discipline to lose that much weight. My daughter has been on weight watchers for over a year and has lost 95 pounds. Very difficult.

From previous thread: "and tstl...that hurts. ouch." Not my intent, rich. I believe the term was coined in the literary world by reviewers to describe protagonists who think or do stupid stuff. My daughter's college friends have refined the term to a reference to intoxication. Doing stupid stuff while drunk. My young dance friend got his tattoo in the midst of an alcoholic spree. Anonomom's suggestion is good. Know that you are loved.

But if you're gonna go TSTL, remember location location location. There's a young TSTL in our dance community who got a barcode tattoo on or near his scrotum. Said he wanted to make a statement -- Not for Sale, Can't be Bought, or some similar idiocy. Had to get an MRI last year and said it gave new meaning to Jerry Lee Lewis's anthem. :)

Not sure what a comanche whipsong eagle rock dance looks like, but if it's anything like the Numu scalp dance, let's start the drums and count the coup.
