That's very intresting. I'm always intrested in wanting to know more about how they used, and how they came up with the technology they used to put this film together.
I agree with the CNN coverage...

I don't want the humans to come back to Pandora because it would feel like I were watching the first movie all over again. I would rather there be no Avatar 2 than have a second film that really sucks. Really, I just agree with Taronyu Unilä... And yeah, Jake and Neytiri really should be in the second film- of course! ...@Caleb Hudson your reaction to the film is a normal one. I felt sad a few days after viewing the film myself. That's part of the reason why I haven't gone back to see it yet/again (plus I want to buy it when it comes out on DVD). But, you can just make a consious choice to be a better person (in relation to some of the issues touched upon in the film). That being said, we do live on a dieing planet. The Earth would have died sooner or later but we have just excelerated it's dead. That doesn't mean all is completely lost, but Earths final chapter is at hand, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go jump off a cliff either! However, I will say this, we have to look beyond ourselves enough to realize the lingering beauty that is slipping away from us on this EARTH... The planets global temprature is still rising (which will forever effect our whole ecosystem) and we have lost countless people to genocide who have been afflicted with a type of prejudice that has forever affected their society. All of these things are real. If you really want to make a diffrence then you can sign up with organization like the Red Cross. You can still make a diffrence on this Earth all you have to do is be an active part of what is real.

@ Steve, I thought I was a bit nuts for thinking that the 3-D film some how fell short of visiual perfection. I haven't bothered to go see the film in 2-D but when I was watching it in 3-D I felt a little cheated. But, I'm looking forward to seeing the film on blue-ray when it comes out on DVD!!!!

I have to agree with Quicksilver4648 the movie does remind me of an adult version of Fern Gully. It also reminds me of pocahontas, the Disney version. I can even see how someone could draw similarities between it and the Matrix... Anyway, I think that if we did get to reach some exotic strange world we would destroy it. I have to agree with Heather Hays, Carmen Almeida, and everyone else who made similar comments. Our earth is dying and the worst part about it is that this world could have been a paradise. Everything that was in the film was a mirror of the things that have been/are on this world. It is only now that we have almost completely turned our home into a waste land that the full extent of how much we have damaged everything can be seen! Our home (Earth) is dying and the film only reflects that. But sadly I believe that the death of this world would only be a natural outcome to all of the accelerated decay that we have brought upon it.
