Peter, I'm so sorry to hear that. People in the Avatar/pandora community should be more understanding! I'm very disappointed in whomever that was. I'll give them a talking to!! I also understand some of what you're feeling. Personally, the way I cope with some of it, is by exploring the artistic venues. There are two ways to do this. If you are artistic or want to explore that side of yourself, look into drawing or writing - draw pictures of your Pandora dreams or write about Avatar fan stories. If you just want to enjoy from a viewer's POV, check out deviantart.com and look up some of the Na'vi and Avatar fan art clubs, or go to Fanfiction.net and read some of the wonderful fanfics produced by fellow fans. They can be of great comfort to me sometimes. I really hope this helps. I'm not online as much as I used to be because of a grueling work schedule, but if you ever need to talk, send me a message here, or on Tree of Souls, where I also have an account (same name). "Growing is Forever" This is the most amazing film! It's only a few minutes long and it's about trees, forests and life. You guys have GOT to watch this! It's by a west coast film maker, Jesse Rosten, and read and written by Kallie Markle. Her poetry and way of reading is so beautiful - and kind of sad. It sounds like a story told to children by the fire in a distant age when there are no more trees..... ps - sorry I couldn't post it as a video. Vimeo's been acting funny today, so I posted it as a link.

you're right in questioning, how far do we go? I like to think that this is a warning to proceed cautiously. Like the video mentions, even the common cold could kill these people off. If we decided to connect with them, which seems inevitable, we want to do it in the least destructive way possible, preserving the traditional culture as we go. I think this presents us with a unique opportunity to do things right this time around, and to learn from mistakes previously made. I hope that our fellow human beings in South America will end up making the right decisions. Eywa ngahu.
