There's a Marisco's German truck at the AmVet's near the skate park and it's there everyday! I've never seen one at the skate park itself.

Just got back from the Big Island and had just gone to Teshima's. I was there with Mom and ordered the Shrimp Tempura on a recommendation. Although crispy, we were a bit disappointed at the "one-sided" tempura. Is that "local" style? The tsuyu was also a bit too sweet for our taste and no suri-daikon.

My family back home has been on the hunt for Salt & Pepper wings but haven't found any yet. I'll have to ask if they have been here. Have you had the Crispy Gau Gee from Waimalu Chop Suey? Now those are huge!!!

Went to a City Farmer's cooking class and learned to make ricotta a few months ago and am loving making it! It's really easy and delicious. I like to add garlic and fresh herbs like dill and spread on toasted baguettes. Yum!

Glad you had a good time in Hawaii. I am also from Lanai but haven't been back for a loong time...no relatives left there. Anyway, have never heard of Spam flavored Mac Nuts. Where do you get them. I go back to visit Hawaii at least a couple times a year. Especially Big Island.

Oh man!! That reminds me of the deep fried smoked chicken leg from Pine Tree Cafe in Kona. It's my favorite item on their extensive menu. Really good Local foods.
