Teaching Islam is not only about learning the basic duties such as praying. It is teaching the children manners, as well as cleanliness. A nursery shall provide an Islamic environment and will instil in them good morals, which will help them become good Muslims. A good Muslim is a good citizen, a gentle and caring member of society. Islam places huge emphasis on gaining knowledge. Education is also crucial to integration and social cohesion in a diverse multicultural and multi-faith society. Statistics show that while a third of British Muslims are under 16 and there are around 500,000 young Muslims currently at school or college, they are still significantly underachieving in comparison to their peers. The key educational issues concerning Muslim parents are the continuing poor academic results of Muslim children and the inadequacy of spiritual and moral education that schools provide. There are many reasons for this and a number of stakeholders have a vital role to play if things are to change any time soon. Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental period. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. It will help them to develop self-confidence and self-esteem. It will help them to develop Islamic Identity, crucial for mental, emotinal and personality development. Bilingual Muslim children need to learn and be well versd in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. At the same time, they need to learn and be well versed in Araic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He does not want to beome notoriously monolingual Brit. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. IA http://www.londonschoolofislamis.org.uk

"a culture of greed and instant gratification, rootless hedonism and amoral violence" - a clean up is clearly needed. For a minute there I thought he was talking about the Honorable Members of the House of Commons. Peter Oborne said it very eloquently: greed starts at the top with our politicians and bankers. The bankers who took millions while destroying people's savings: greedy, selfish, immoral. The MPs who fiddled their expenses: greedy, selfish, immoral. The people who hacked phones to get stories and make money for themselves: greedy, selfish and immoral. Let's talk about what this does to our culture. British Muslim citizens of Birmingham who sought to defend their communities. When three of them were mown down by one evil individual, we saw the best and the worst of Britain clash in one moment. All of us were moved beyond words by what Tariq Jahan said about the death of his son and the lesson that we should learn." Mr Jahan made an open and straightforward declaration of his faith. ‘I’m a Muslim. I believe in divine fate and destiny, and it was his destiny and his fate, and now he’s gone,’ he said. ‘And may Allah forgive him and bless him.’It was a solemn, peaceful message that will make everyone who stereotypes Muslims as terrorists and fanatics feel ashamed of themselves. Tariq Jahan is a deeply impressive man, and like the great majority of Muslims in this country, he is hard-working, clean-living, guided in his conduct by religious belief, and unshakeable in his devotion to the ideal of family life. Some white areas in Manchester and Liverpool and black areas like Peckham and Hackney are poor and deprived but it doesn't give them the right to go wreck peoples livelihoods. Look at areas which have large Asian Muslim populations like Bradford, Oldham, Tower Hamlets and even Alum Rock in Birmingham which are poor areas and have large unemployment, but were some of the safest places in the country in the last week and escaped the rioting and looting. Family upbringing played a part. IA http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Salaam What the immigrants ask is not just social benefit and money from the government, but more human interaction and being respected as fellow human-beings. Hell if I can get more of these at the expense of paying more tax, I'd even do that. The sense of belonging doesn't come from money or other materialistic factors for that matter. How about treating people equally? For example like saying hi when walking past each other on streets instead of exclaiming "you steal our jobs"; or NOT rejecting a job applicant for being Asian/Mideast/African/Slavic? The sense of respect stems from the small gestures of people, the way they greet you and wants to know you as a person. Then again I can't blame the Brits cos they don't even show much intimacy towards each other. Seven million Brits are unable to read and write. It is practicaly imposible for them to work for the economic, social and emotional prosperity of the British society. Because of this, British society would bleed to death without migration. Immigrants are the life blood of the British society. I see no reason why immigration and tolerance for other cultures is a threat to the welfare state. Immigrants keep some of our most important public services running and will likely be required even more so in the decades ahead in order to care for European's ageing population. There are certainly legitimate concerns among the trade union movement about social dumping bringing down wages but that could quite easily be solved by tightening labour regulations and making sure all workers have the same pay and working conditions regardless of where they come from. I think the main threat is the EU (together with global financial institutions like the IMF). Why not challenge economic globalisation and the powerful corporate interests it serves instead of putting the blame on migrants from the third world who are either fleeing persecution or simply looking for a better life for themselves and their families? Free Our Schools Almost all children now believe they go to school to pass exams. The idea that they may be there for an education is irrelevant. State schools have become exam factories, interested only in A to C Grades. They do not educate children. Exam results do not reflect a candidate’s innate ability. Employers have moaned for years that too many employees cannot read or write properly. According to a survey, school-leavers and even graduates lack basic literacy and numeracy skills. More and more companies are having to provide remedial training to new staff, who can’t write clear instructions, do simple maths, or solve problems. Both graduates and school-leavers were also criticised for their sloppy time-keeping, ignorance of basic customer service and lack of self-discipline. Bilingual Muslims children have a right, as much as any other faith group, to be taught their culture, languages and faith alongside a mainstream curriculum. More faith schools will be opened under sweeping reforms of the education system in England. There is a dire need for the growth of state funded Muslim schools to meet the growing needs and demands of the Muslim parents and children. Now the time has come that parents and community should take over the running of their local schools. Parent-run schools will give the diversity, the choice and the competition that the wealthy have in the private sector. Parents can perform a better job than the Local Authority because parents have a genuine vested interest. The Local Authority simply cannot be trusted. The British Government is planning to make it easier to schools to “opt out” from the Local Authorities. Muslim children in state schools feel isolated and confused about who they are. This can cause dissatisfaction and lead them into criminality, and the lack of a true understanding of Islam can ultimately make them more susceptible to the teachings of fundamentalists like Christians during the middle ages and Jews in recent times in Palestine. Fundamentalism is nothing to do with Islam and Muslim; you are either a Muslim or a non-Muslim. There are hundreds of state primary and secondary schools where Muslim pupils are in majority. In my opinion all such schools may be opted out to become Muslim Academies. This mean the Muslim children will get a decent education. Muslim schools turned out balanced citizens, more tolerant of others and less likely to succumb to criminality or extremism. Muslim schools give young people confidence in who they are and an understanding of Islam’s teaching of tolerance and respect which prepares them for a positive and fulfilling role in society. Muslim schools are attractive to Muslim parents because they have better discipline and teaching Islamic values. Children like discipline, structure and boundaries. Bilingual Muslim children need Bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods, who understand their needs and demands. None of the British Muslims convicted following the riots in Bradford and Oldham in 2001 or any of those linked to the London bombings had been to Islamic schools. An American Think Tank studied the educational back ground of 300 Jihadists; none of them were educated in Pakistani Madrasas. They were all Western educated by non-Muslim teachers. Bilingual Muslim children need bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. A Cambridge University study found that single-sex classes could make a big difference for boys. They perform better in single-sex classes. The research is promising because male students in the study saw noticeable gains in the grades. The study confirms the Islamic notion that academic achievement is better in single-sex classes. Iftikhar Ahmad London School of Islamics Trust http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Salaam Many state schools are suffering a "real behaviour problem", nearly 1000 children are suspended every day for abuse and assault.Schools are being asked to search for weapons and frisk pupils suspected of carrying knives, alcohal, drugs and stolen goods. Some schools are guilty of hiding misbehaviour from Ofsted by telling the worst pupils to stay at home on the day of inspection. It is an eye opening for those Muslim parents who keep on sending their children to state school with worst behaviour problems. The silent majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim school. There are only 166 Muslim schools , educating less then 5% of Muslim children while over 95% attend state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be opted out as Muslim Academies. Bilingual Muslim children should be adopted and fostered by bilingual Muslim parents because man is a product of his culture, language and faith. At the same time bilingual Muslim children should be educated in state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. Homosexuality is a sin and Muslim parents and schools must teach their children. It is not only homosexuality but sex out of wedlock is also a sin.

I watched this programme and thought it was grossly biased reporting. It stood on the side of the EDL and David Cameron's witch hunt against all those Muslims from segregated communities and understood nothing about the reality of living in poor communities in the north of England. Since we can't all live in tolerant cities like Oxford, then we need to take some time to understand what it's like living amongst impoverished Brits. Impoverished by unemployment, drugs, underage sex, racism and a nostalgia for a past before Pakistanis lived here. Would anyone from Oxford want to be mixing with 'them sort' of people? Probably not. Why should we forced to befriend them, when they hate us and have always hated us. Why not stop blaming Muslims for everything and ask yourself the question - how many Muslims have I bothered to get to know? To tolerate? To understand? Secondly, it is not illegal to smack children. If you mark them, that's another issue. None of these children were marked. It is their parents who should have the last say, not me, you or Tazneed Ahmad. Despatches is clearly trying every thing to turn people away from islam. why don't they show the child abuse that goes on in western schools. it was only a few years ago the head masters used to do the same thing.but however islam is the fastest growing faith in the whole wide world. whys that i wonder? maybe because its the truth and people what to no the truth. Dispatches on Channel 4 TV showed in a high praised state funded Muslim school that children as young as 11 are being taught to keep away from Hindu and non-believers, and turned against Jews and Christians. why no protests about jewish schools.they preach the same racial intolarance. The program made me proud of mosque schools. Out of 2000 mosque & Muslims supplementary schools, you were able to spot only two schools and two teachers who were hitting physically students or teaching hate. You kept going for 4 years but had to reshow the same clips several time because you could not collect many to confirm your theory. we will try to improve. The percentage of churches and state schools who sexually abuse children and scar them for life are countless. Your program only create hate and division within the community when you generalize from two incidents. what a wasted money & years of your team work. Such dangerous dispatches should be banned to protect our community. A lot of the issues shown happen in a lot of state run schools across all religious and class affiliations but you just want to undermine and misrepresent Islam by parading a few Idiots who obviously haven't understood Islamic teachings properly but apply cultural practices. Islam is the only system that welcomes people of all colour, creed, class, status, race and background Peace. Channel-4 will be accused of misrepresentation, gross distortion, Islamophobia, stirring-up racial tension, and probably get a visit from police - as they did last time. On the other hand BBC and Channel 4 TVs have never shown that Muslim children have been victim of Paki-bashing for the last 60 years in British schooling. They have been victim of racism, bullying and discrimination. Schools, LEAs and DEF tried their best to hide this kind of abuse under the carpet.Indiscipline, bullying, incivility, binge drinking, drug addiction, gun and knife crimes, teenage pregnancies and abortion are part and parcel of British schooling. These are the reasons why majority of Muslim parents would like to send their children to Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Only less than 5% attend Muslim schools and more than 95% keep on attending state and church schools to be mis-educated and de-educated by non-Muslim monolingual teachers. British schooling is the home of institutioonal racism and British teachers are chicken racist. Non-Muslim teachers are not role models for the Muslim children during their developmental periods. British schooling has been in the process of producing racist young generations, who not only hate each other but also hate those who are differnt in colour and creed. Due to racism in British schooling, young Muslim children are unable to develop self-esteem and self-confidence. All of them suffer from identity crises. They do not know where they belong. In the name of integration, they find themselves cut off from their cultural roots and are unable to enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. Pakistani children suffer more than others. Majority of them leave schools with low grades. They are unable to enjoy the beauty of Urdu literature and poetry. There is a dire need that bilingual Muslim children should be educated in state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. Islamophobia and Arabophobia has been part of western culture since the Crusades, with Saddam and Osama only the latest in a long line of Arab bogeymen. The real reason for the current spate of Islamophobia is the fact that Islam has been the fastest growing religion in the world and as such poses a threat to the West. This is happening inspite of widespread misconceptions and negative media portrayed of Islam. Prejudice against Islam in the West developed due to historic rivalry of Christianity against Islam. The defeat of Christians by the Muslims in Crusades was a big shock for the Christian world. These deep wounds are still so fresh in the Christian world today that the parents, media, politicians and teachers feel it a duty to nurture the feelings of prejudice against Islam in the hearts and minds of their young generations. According to Runnymede Trust, Britain has become “an institutionally Islamophobic” society in which Muslims are demonised. Hostility towards Muslims is still a major problem and is not being taken seriously enough by race relations bodies. According to Dr. Richard Stone, there is now renewed talk of a clash of civilizations, a new global cold war, and mounting concern that the already fragile foothold gained by Muslim communities in Britain is threatened by ignorance and intolerance. According to John Gieve of the Home office, Islamic extremism might be a “symptom of disaffection”. The same disaffection previously surfaced during the riots that shook Oldham and Bradford in 2001. Jews and Christian scholars, the so called Western Orientals have always tried to mispresent Islam in their writings. They have always tried to spread baseless lies against Islam in a very authentic and scholarly style, hiding their deep rooted hatred against Islam. They have called all efforts to restore pure Islam in Muslim countries as “fundamentalist movements” against modern-day material progress and economic development. Lacy O’Leary in the book “Islam at the cross road”: “history makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated.” Even Gandhi refuted the false propaganda, otherwise, one could not find even a single Hindu or non-Muslim in the Indian sub-continent and on top of that Sikhism could not dare to emerge as a religion. India would be the largest Muslim country in the world. In the 20th century new images emerged, the fanatical terrorist, the stone-thrower and the suicide bomber. According to Lord Carey, there was a deep-rooted Islamophobia in Britain. There is a worrying ignorance of Muslim people and suspicion of their presence in the United Kingdom. It is assumed by many that Muslims wish to take over ‘our country and if we allow them to enter Britain in significant numbers they will in time make the country Islamic’. Mr. Denis MacShane, the Minister for Europe urged British Muslims to adopt the “British norms” and not the way of the “terrorists”, in other words “Islamic way”. He provoked Muslims to choose between the “British way” and the way of terrorism.” Monica Ali’s, who was mis-educated and de-educated by the British education system, portrays Bangladeshi Muslims in Brick Lane as backward, uneducated and unsophisticated. This is the main reason why her book was selected for Guardian First Book Award. The content of the book is a despicable insult to Bengali Muslims at home and abroad. The book can be compared to Salman Rushdie’s Stanic Verses. The combined forces of racial discrimination and Islamophobia have been awesome in the marginalisation and alienation of the Muslim community. Muslims made to feel like an enemy within by Islamophobic attitudes. Hardening prejudice against Islam is creating a dis-affected underclass of young Muslims “time-bombs” likely to explode into violence, according to a recent report. Life for Britain 1.6 million Muslims has never been easy. For decades they have struggled in the face of discrimination in all walks of life. West is not based on Judio-Christian civilisation. This term should be abandoned to be replaced by Judio-Christian-Islamic civilisation. The new language should be used in all venues starting with media, academic statements by politicians, church leaders and Imams of Masajid. These are the words that define how we are related to each other’s. Through out the modern history, Muslims have contributed for the Renaissance of Western culture and society. Islamic values are not only compatible with the western values they are almost identical. Islamic ideas helped shape the European West that produced the values cherished by the constitution’s framers. Western culture is infact based on Muslim culture. The aim of education is to give the highest possible standard in order to advance spiritually, emotionally, technologically and economically. The early Muslim knew this and they were instrumental in giving the west much of the scientific knowledge that has once helped it to thrive. Bernard Shaw once said that the future religion of the West would be Islam and only Islam. Islamophobia is guiding Westerners towards that end. They study with open mind the Holy Quran and Islamic literature and poetry. Islam is a force fighting Imperialism. Read the greatest book of revolution: The Holy Quran. Meet the greatest revolutionary of all times: Muhammad (peace be upon him). In America a great number of universities, colleges and schools are offering Islamic Studies courses. There is a possibility that in the near future half of native population would revert to Islam. In fact Islamophobia is a blessing in disguise. Iftikhar Ahmad http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Salaam Tolerance in Britain is an illusion. The problem isn't Muslims not adapting to British culture, it's Brits showing much disrespect and scorn to those who are of any Islamic background. even if an Muslim was well versed in English, knew the customs etc. would they still get employment? No. Would Brits treat them as a decent human? No. So why would they want to integrate into a culture that is constantly tearing them down? God doesn't want the whole world to be Muslim but that the duty of Muslims, Jews and Christians is to compete in doing good works to please him. Unfortunately, we all seem to be killing each other instead. May it soon change! There is no end to act of terrorism, forced marriages and honour killing, as long as Muslim children keep on attending state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers. Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Salaam Europe is still racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic. It is unable to forget and forgive the seige of Vienna in 1683. I fully understand the FEAR & THE INFERIORITY COMPLEX Factor among some Christians / Jews & the Hindu Groups/Individuals when dealing with the subject of ISLAM. Today the followers of All the Religions in the World are talking Only about ISLAM, because, it is understandable that You will only talk about SOMETHING WHICH IS TRULY HUGE / GIGANTIC & TREMENDOUSLY SUCCESSFUL, when compared to ALL the other religions. We will NEVER like to discuss about anything which is INSIGNIFICANT, but ISLAM IS HUGELY SIGNIFICANT as the Fastest Growing Religion in the entire World, not only Europe or America or Africa or Asia or Australia. ISLAM as a religion is Growing Everywhere, by the Grace of the Almighty Allah. This is not there in the case of other religions, because THEY ARE ALL OBSOLETE NOW. Only ISLAM is the One and Only LIVE/TRUE religion in this World, hence SPREADING. There is a tremendous CAMPAIGN GOING AROUND THE WORLD TO DEMONISE ISLAM to put a STOP ON ITS GROWTH. Please do not Demonise ISLAM, Read the Noble Quran to understand what ISLAM really is. We live in a country where women are over-sexualised and sold as 'products' for capitalist gains. A woman's beauty is splashed around everywhere, and she is only judged by that. Islam tells a woman to cover up so that she is not abused as Western women are. Islam is the fastest growing faith in Britain. Hundreds and thousands of Brits are reverting to Islam. By the middle of this century, over half of Brits would be Muslims. "I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Saviour of Humanity. I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world, he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today." Salaam London School of Islamics is an educational Trust. Its aim is to make British public, institutions and media aware of the needs and demands of the Muslim community in the field of education and possible solutions. Please visit www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk for more information on this complicated and crucial issue. I am concerned with the education of Muslim schildren in British schoolings who have been mis-educated and de-educated for the last 50 years. There is no evidence to suggest that religious schools encourage separation within communities, according to Professor Gary Bouma of Monash university. Some people feel its very important that children raised in an environment thats friendly and accepting of their religious beliefs. They are not going to get that at a state school. Bilingual Muslim children need bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. This is noting to do with segregation or integration. Muslim community with Masajid and school are not going to harm your culture and language. I would like to see Muslim children learning standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. The problem is that they learn English in the streets and in the playgrounds. British schooling does not teach English to migrant children. The teachers let them speak the same accent in the classroom. They have no courage to stop them or correct them. This is one of the main reasons why one third of children have difficulties with reading when they leave primary schools. Majority of such children are bilingual Muslims. They often speak "street" with its own grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. In other European countries and in the sub-continent argot and slang are not allowed into the classrooms. In Britain primary school teachers do not feel that it's role to interfere with self-expression in any shape or form. They encourage children to read poems and stories written in ethnic dialects. At the same time I would like to see them learning Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. The second generation of Muslim migrants is facing a huge challenge because they did not think even for a second before that someone would say, 'You are not welcome. Native Brits feel that their culture and language is superior and every Tom and Harry must learn English and forget their own languages, cultures, literatures and poetry. Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremists because they have been mis-educated and de-educated by the state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers. They find themselves cut off from their cultural roots. They do not know where they belong. They are unable to enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. Pakistani youths suffer more than other Muslim youths. Majority of them leave schools with low grades. Majority of them are in prison. British schooling is the home of institutional racism and British teachers are chicken racist. Muslim children have been vicitm of Paki-bashing for the last 50 years by the majority of native children. Now those schools where Muslim children are in majority, they are doing the same what the native children have been doing in the past. The solution is that such schools where Muslim children are in majority may for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. Bilingual Muslim children need bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. Muslim schools promote tolerance and harmony between different cultural and religious traditions. They develop self-confidence and self-esteem in Muslim children because they educate them according to their needs and demands. Salaam Muslim community has been victim of Paki-bashing for the last 50 years by the British society in all walks of life. Now it is a victim of terrorism by the British Establishment. Thousands of Muslim youths are being searched in streets and hundreds of them are behind the bar without any trial. Muslim students in British universities are considered as potential terrorists. Crusades against Muslims has been in full swing in America and Britain for a long long long time. You are not gong to win the hearts and minds of Muslims all over the world by calling them every filthy names. Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to English language. English language is not only a lingua franca but also lingua frankensteinia. Human right are also covers linguistic right. Cultural and linguistic genocide are very common. British schooling is murdering community languages like Arabic, Urdu and others. English is today the world killer language. Linguistic genocide is a crime against humanity and British schooling is guilty of committing this crime. Blair’s statement about radical Islam being the “biggest threat for the world” unveils his own hatred for Islam and Muslims in the name of “Radical Islam”. He is a true representative of Westernism the ideology of hegemony, which in truth is the greatest threat to mankind. It is not radical Islam but Westernist designs of controlling the world through all possible means – military and nonmilitary—that have brought biggest devastation to the world both in terms of deaths in wars and deaths through popularization of a culture in which alcohol, drugs, gambling, promiscuity, homosexuality and prostitution have become part of the normal life. It is the US and the UK that have used all forms of weapons in threatening the people worldwide and in invading, attacking and occupying countries after countries. Can Mr. Blair tell which country “radical Islam” invaded and occupied in the last century? Would Mr. Blair like to count the deaths caused by Alcohol, AIDS, murders and wars caused by Western style of living and Western bombs? And the problem with Blair is that he happens to be not only a Westernist but also a Radical Christian. And with this combination it is only natural for him to see Islam as the biggest threat to what he loves. Using the term “radical” is only a ploy to defend his position. Soon he will come with a clarification that he hated radical Islam and not Islam. Mr Blair, if you want to stop bloodshed, you should first ask US and UK to stop killing people and invading countries before expecting others to follow suit. Before that it's better for you to join Bush, Brown and Sarkozy for drinks. Iftikhar Ahmad http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Globalisation means that we now all live, work or communicate with people who are different. In this global village, religious faith plays a central role in the way that people understand or from their culture and identity. Human being is a product of his culture, language and faith. There is a positive co-relation between language and culture. Parents have the right to raise their children in faith based schools. Those who object to this right display their contempt for parental rights and sadly intolerance for the religious convictions of others. It is not only Muslims but other communities have been trying to set up their own schools for their children. I set up the first Muslim school in 1981 and now there are 166 Muslim schools and only 11 schools are state funded. There are four Sikh state funded schools. Hindu state funded school was set up in Harrow last year and next year a Hindu state funded school would emerge in Leicester. Even Black community is thinking of setting up its own schools for black children with black teachers. A study by Bristol University reveals that a high level of racial segregation in Oldham schools and tension between communities resulted in recent riots in 2001. A report by the Institute for Community Cohesion found that native parents were deserting some schools after finding their children outnumbered by pupils from ethnic minorities. The native parents do not want their children to be educated along with migrant children. Schools in parts of England are becoming increasingly segregated. Many of the schools and colleges are segregated and this was generally worsening over recent years. This is RACISM. The solution is that those schools where Muslim children are in majority may be opted out as Muslim Academies. State schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers are not in a position to satisfy the social, emotional needs and demands of the bilingual Muslim children. Majority of them leave schools with low grades. They find themselves cut off from their cultural, linguistic and spiritual identities. Muslim children in state schools feel isolated and confused about who they are. This can cause dissatisfaction and lead them into criminality. Immigration is an unstoppable face of modern society, and immigrants will need help integrating, but the host society needs to show zero tolerance to non-EU and EU citizens who clearly don't like being here. The second generation of Muslim migrants is facing a huge challenge because they did not think even for a second before that someone would say, 'You are not welcome. Native Brits feel that their culture and language is superior and every Tom and Harry must learn English and forget their own languages, cultures, literatures and poetry. It is the native Brits who need to learn and respect those who are different. Immigrants are also human beings with social, emotional and spiritual needs and demands. They are not just economics for the economic prosperity. British children in Spain come with this mentality, wanting to keep themselves to themselves and feel no obligation to integrate into Spanish way of life. The Brits are the most problematic minority group in Spanish schools. They are worst at learning the host language and integrating into school life than any other nationality in Spain's state schools. They have negative attitudes towards integration. They carry a strong sense of English linguistic superiority. They were embarrassed to speak Spanish because the other students laughed at them. Brit children had very little or no concept of Spanish culture or social life. They watched UK TVs and English language radios. Their parents do not speak Spanish nor have Spanish friends. In English ghettos, Spaniards fear to tread. They have no interest in being part of Spanish society. Iftikhar Ahmad http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Iftikhar Ahmad http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk

Salaam According to Article 18 of the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights, “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion … freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance.” The burqa and the niqab are part of an individual’s religious beliefs. It’s strikingly contradictory therefore that France, in order to liberate women from perceived Islamic oppression, has to violate their universal human rights. To be sure, given that France’s face-covering ban will only affect 2,000 citizens out of 62.3 million, the imminent interdiction is more a symbolic issue than a practical matter. I have seen western educated Muslim women are in Burqa while their mothers never even covered their heads in Pakistan. I do not know whether it is due to western education or because they find themselves victim of racism. According to Lord Burtend Russell, western education makes a man stupid and selfish. The credit cruch in the world is due to the policies of blue eyed western educated elites. British schooling is also in a mess because of such western educated elites. Burqa is not locking women, it is a buffer line between protecting chasity and exposing. Being naked and drunk is acceptabl but being covered and modest is inhuman. No body has the right to tell a woman how to dress, or worse, how to undress? Let her wear what she likes, especially if it's part of her religion. I see the banning of headscarves or niqabs as an attack on both religious freedom and on the rights of women & girls. A veil ban targets very few women; it speaks to a fear of other who is Muslim. This is Islamophobia. In the United Kingdom, there is a social and economic pressure on Muslim women not to cover themselves with headscarf or a veil. The tiny minority of women are being blamed for all the failure of integration policies through out Europe. European Muslims are more worried about the economy, the cost of living, decent housing and racism than about a burqa ban. French president wants Muslim women to be topless like his wife who posed topless in fashion shows. He has no right to ban the burqa because it is undemocratic and an unqualified attack on individual freedom. Burqa is not just a piece of cloth but a lot of ideological and cultural connotation to it. Women are just being exploited in the name of rights. Burqa protects women's rights and treat each women like a princess. No one has the right to ban the freedom of choice in a secular and democratic country. The right to choice is a basic fundamental right the person should have. French president's interpretation of burqa as a symbol of subservience is false. It is a usual habit of western ideologists to twist history and distort the facts inorder to project their culture as superior one. The president should be criminally tried for spreading such falsehood. To veil or not to veil should be an individual choice. Dress codes are for children, not for adults. Government legislated dress codes for the Taliban religious policy not western democracies. Women should be free to wear burqas. If women can get away with wearing cropped shirts and pants that show their panties, they should be able to waer burqas too. Those Muslim women in Europe who want to wear burqa are being asked to migrate to another country, remind one of Shiv Sena's suggestion to India's Muslims to migrate to Pakistan or qubristan(graveyard). There is no difference of mentality between Hindus and Europeans. Both of them have no respect and tolerate those who are different. People should understand that better than 90% of the women in France and Belgium (as also UK and Germany) who wear burqa, are young women who were born in those countries; they did not migrate from another country. In fact some of them converted to Islam from Christianity and Judaism. . The lawmakers in Belgium and France are trying to target such a small population is pure irrationality. Unless the motivation is racial and sectarian hatred of the Muslims. The same as BJP and Sangh Parivar in India. Equal rights, human rights, womens; rights are not just nice topics of discussion after dinner; or to make women the plaything for men's pleasure. They mean the right of each woman to determine her lifestyle as she so choses. The best thing to spread something is to outlaw it. If you outlaw burqas now in France, it will soon stand as a martyred symbol of ethnic cultural tradition in the face of racist oppression. Do you really want that? The fact is that western tradition of exposing female skin for the edification of the male sex is degrading. I think I'd rather walk around the street looking like a ninja than wearing what girls these days are expected to wear. If I dressed up like a ninja all the time in the street It wouldnt hurt any one. So why the big fuss? I see the argument for oppression, but how the heck are you gonna know if its oppression or if the woman really wants to cover up? Human rights organizations have declared such bans to be illegal and a violation of the European Convention on Human Rights, as well as violating the rights to freedom of expression and religion. Lawyers for human rights and Islamic groups are preparing to challenge the bans in both national courts and eventually, the European Court of Human Rights. One Muslim woman, Caroline Chaiima, writing in Lepoint.fr, said she wore a veil: "Let those most closely concerned speak. I am a French woman born in France, with French parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and I am a Muslim. I wear the full veil and I feel like saying: So what? I am happy behind the veil, I protect myself from depraved stares. Neither my father, nor my brother, nor my husband forced the full veil upon me; it's a personal choice." Salaam It is easy to say" Go back to where you came from",but do not forget that British Muslims are actually born and educated here. They are in the unenviable position of trying to combine two diffent worlds. That is no easy. Attacks on the Muslim community are at an all time high. The newspapers are full of abuse against Muslims. Physical attacks are rising. Muslim demonstrators are being sent to prison. The election of a right wing government will only mean more anti-Muslim policies while in Europe governments are lining up to ban the Burqa and impose restrictions on the Hijab. Multiculturalism is not about separation, ghettoisation or balkanisation. It is, instead, a recognition of both diversity and the need for common ground, mutual respect, and cultural engagement. Muslims all over the world never opposed English as a language what they did was opposition of the English culture and their system of education. In Pakistan, the medium of instruction is English and the official language is both English and Urdu. Pakistan is going to send English teachers to Korea for the teaching of English language. Muslim parents would like their children to be well versed in standard English to follow the National Curriculum and go for higher studies and research to serve humanity. Majority of Muslim children leave schools with low grades because state schools with monolingual teachers are not capable of teaching English to bilingual children. At the same time, they need to learn and be well versed in Arabic, Urdu and other community languages to keep in touch with their cultural roots and enjoy the beauty of their literature and poetry. I am concerned with the education of the Muslim children. It is nothing to do with integration or segregation. Those state schools where Muslim children are in majority, in my opinion, may be designated as Muslim community schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models. Bilingual Muslim children could be properly educated if they attend state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school. A Muslim is a citizen of this tiny global village. He/she does not want to become notoriously monolingual Brit.

Salaam A cap on immigration from third world countries will be imposed despite cabinet concern that the policy could harm the economy. The school secretary and university minister have raised concerns that the cap could deprive the economy of skilled labour. Baroness Valentine said that the word cap is a very negative word to put out to the global market place. There is a strong connection between economic success and the contribution of immigrants. A study suggests that a 1% population increase through migration triggers 1.5% increase in GDP. Immigrants are also human beings with social, emotional and spiritual needs and demands. They are not just economics for the economic prosperity of the British society. Migration is good for economy and business. Migrants pay more taxes than they use in public services. They are just economic slaves of the British society. They have never been treated as human beings. They have been victim of racism, discrimination, bullying, physical and verbal abuse. Unskilled migrants are not welcomed because they are not economically beneficial for Britain. Without foreign workers, British economy will bleed to death. British society must be greatful to the foreign workers who kept them alive. Now migrant communities need doctors, nurses, teachers and social workers with their cultural backgrounds and who can speak their languages. They are in a better position to serve and satisfy their needs and demands. Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or ateacher in a Muslim school. There are hundreds of state and church schools where Muslim children are in majority. In my opinion, all such schools may be designated as Muslim community schools. Iftikhar Ahmad http://www.londonschoolofislamics.org.uk
