Those economists never stopped paying homage to Friedman: they just started doing it in Hayek's name. Friedman's policies faltered in '82 and died in '08, now we're just dealing with the death throes. Hopefully the US Republicans and Eurozone "stalwarts" won't make too big of a fuss about going down with their ship.
